    Killing him gives the police a loophole so that they don't have to pay anyone the reward money since Dorner technically wasn't captured or convicted.

    Burning him beyond recognition and having his wallet with driver's license lying nearby also seems slightly fishy, but I've seen too many movies.

    Ag least there's some good news in this. Drivers license technology has improved. He was burnt to cinders but it survived and was legible.
