I agree with the first part but not the second part. Jordan wouldn't be able to play back to backs and you would have to limit his minutes to around 25 a game.
I'll put it this way then: I'd rather have start Nic at the 2, Claver at the 3, and have Jordan off the bench than start Nic and Matthews with Claver off the bench.
Jordan would be terrible if he came back at this age. The only reason anyone would want him is for the media/fan factor.
I was psyched to have him come back in Washington because he was only like 39. I don't want to see him at 50. Maybe one game, but not a full season. I think he'd get embarrassed and I don't want the last memories of Jordan on the court as a broken down old man.
If any former player could do it, it'd be Jordan. Knowing full well he'd never play in Portland, I'd jump on it if i was the team. If for nothing other then the $$ it would bring in.
If he played for the wizards.... He would play for Portland. Don't forget about that Nike connection either. Plus how flipping cool would that be
He only played for the Wiz because he was part owner and pres of basketball ops. So basically he had a big incentive for the team to be better and the best chance he figured was for him to play. So for him to even think about it we would probably have to give him a similar incentive. If he comes back it would be for Bobcats at this point.
I believe he had to sell his part of the team to be able to play for the Wiz. I don't think N owner can play.
Only with 40% USG, and he couldn't play defense. Wes, warts and all, is a 14 PER player on 19% USG. I do assume you were being sarcastic, however.
Yes he did but it was always the plan on his end to go back to being a their front-office exec and owner after he improved the team for a few years.
And that's why I don't want him to come back. I don't want that to be the last impression I have of Jordan.
