Depends on the power forward. There are multiple blogs calling out Monroe for his poor post defense, though. Even Detroit fans admit Monroe needs to get better defensively.
They give up- Aldridge 51.2 vs Monroe 52.2 Of course I also compared their net #s as well. Aldridge -3.9 vs Monroe -2.6 Still comparable talents.
If Monroe is younger, a better defender and a similar offensive player, why would Detroit want to trade him?
LMA would want to go to a situation where they are in the hunt for a title. Detroit is not that and likely wont be for a long time.
Not saying this or any deal would happen but as far as I know LMA doesn't have a no-trade clause. He doesn't get to pick.
By that time Monroe won't even be available IMO. Plus if Aldridge asks to be traded; his value drops considerably.
I know he's just a role player, though a solid one, on this team, but found it slightly surprising Aldridge didn't mention Wes alongside himself, Nic and Lillard as to why they'll be alright next year.
Monroe? I never said anything about Monroe ... as for what the Blazers could reasonably expect, look at Deron Williams and the Jazz. If there are a few teams out there that think he could be their missing piece of a championship puzzle then the Blazers should be able to get something. The trick is to get something done before they lose all leverage.
Aldridge doesn't have the mindset to be the All-Star MVP. He's not going to demand the ball and jack up 20 shots. That's just not him.
For those who didn't get it, that was a joke. All that PF Aldridge thinks and talks about is his shooting.
