    There's a lot of incredible solos out there, but the last solo on Fade to Black by Metallica and the solo in Stairway to Heaven are probably my two all time favorites. I've heard them both countless times and they both still give me goosebumps every time.

    They are rare. We're all naming numerous guys who play lead (electric) guitar. I can name maybe 5 women guitarists (Lita Ford?).

    Steve Howe in a 10+ minute guitar solo, otherwise known as "America." The song is a much jazzier remake of the Simon & Garfunkel classic by the same name.
