Not that I have to remind anybody, but I'm a ladies man/ basketball genius, not an internet geek. Web sites like this survive how exactly? I see ads, does S2 get more money depending on the visits to the page itself? Also, I would love to see how many hits this site gets...... especially the Blazers page compared to other teams......and broken down by time of year. Like right before the draft has got to be off the charts.
The site partly survives on ad revenue, and the rest I'm paying for out of my pocket. The traffic may be deceptive to you and others. We get about 25,000 unique visitors per month. A few hundred Blazers posters. The most hit page is the Blazers forum, of course. But all of the pages outside the Blazers forum combined do more hits than all the pages inside. Traffic is about 1/2 during the offseason.
??? What expenses do you have that the ad revenue doesnt cover? Dont you sell your ads based on impressions, not unique visitors? Ever thought about putting the other two standard web size ads on here to generate more impressions?
S2's hosting is pretty elite. The site has not gone down, even for 10 seconds, in over 3 years. It costs I'd rather we find ways to up the traffic (more posters!) than put up more ads. I'd ultimately prefer to not have ads at all - I don't think they ad much to the user experience.
Whoohoo! I would love if this forum had a bunch of fans from other teams. Totally gives a different perspective
It means we're about the 551,710th biggest site on the Internet. Top 100,000 is impressive as all hell for a site non-sponsored or without a brand.
