About our forthcoming pick in the draft. Every loss now makes the pick more likely. Oh boy, another fun rookie to watch.
It's only a matter of time before Matthews and Batum are benched for the year with their injuries. Hix will be traded. And Aldridge will quietly stop trying. Lillard will have lots of big scoring games and Leonard will have one 20/10 game that gets everyone excited.
I'd be excited b/c the draft looks pretty deep at the two positions we need help the most: SG and C. And there are some pretty interesting 2nd-round projections for backup PG (Westermann, Nedovic, Kabongo, Wolters?). Gobert/Westermann/Doug McDermott wouldn't be a horrible draft with the 12/39/48 picks, would it? Or Olynyk/Nedovic/Mbakwe, if you prefer Zags to Frenchies?
Ya, I'm already excited about Meyers Leonard's new Black 2012 or 2013 Porche Panamera Turbo 4 door car. A rookie gotta spend that dough for excitement when hes sitting on the bench most of the time. source: http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/panamera/panamera-turbo/
True but one of my executives bought one (not turbo though) and he's 6'5". He said he could push the seat back far enough that his feet can't touch the peddles.
Interesting. Porche owners probably demanded that they could have sex with girls who always dreamed about having sex in a Porche.
All I'm saying is that throwing in the towel now would cause more harm than good, and that intentionally losing even one single game just to get a few extra ping pong balls is never a good idea. Worry about draft position once draft position is established. If we lose because we suck after an injury or after a trade that makes our future brighter, so be it. More ping pong balls should be small compensation for supporting a losing team, not a goal towards which to strive.
It's not necessarily throwing in the towel. It could be simply putting the goals of winning long term above winning short term. So, use the games to focus more on improvment than on getting the W. And play those who will be here long term more than you might otherwise. YOu don't have to throw games, you don't have to ever have the players throw games, you simply change the focus. There are a bunch of areas that could be worked on right now which might result in more losses but over the long haul will translate to more wins.
