Olshey should have kept Price for the rest of the season. Smith or Babbitt should have been the one to go.

In his first game Maynor wasn't clearly better than Nolan has done lately but I don't think it is close to any stretch to say the team was clearly better with Maynor manning the second unit.

Perfect explanation. The lack of turn overs and confidence to shoot the ball is a godsend compared to the scrubs we had coming in at point

Were people on here clamoring for him to be have the "interim" tag lifted and be given the GM position permanently? If so, were they the same people who were hoping Canales would also have the "interim" tag lifted and hired as our HC? Those two guys have proven to be incapable at the jobs they filled in for. I can (kinda) understand keeping Kaleb on as an assistant, but not as the LEAD defensive assistant...more like a "grab the gator-aid bottles and watch from afar" assistant coach. And if Chad was our lead scout (that's what he was prior to interim-GM, right?) he should just be fired - like, years ago.

I'd be interested to know. I suspect not, but perhaps.

    I wanted neither

I think what people need to understand is that we passed on Faried because of the deal with Denver.

Oh, I totally get that. Never doubted that for a second.
I just seem to remember a whole lot of questionable draft picks made while Chad was "lead scout". It's been a while since I've thought about it, so forgive me if my memory is fuzzy.

Our drafting has been piss poor for a while, for sure. Hopefully Olshey does a better job. His 11th pick is worrisome though

Isn't chad still our scout? And what better player would you have picked at 11? To be honest, there really isn't any players drafted after him that looks way better than Leonard. And keep in mind that the center position was our need. He was the best player available at center after Drummond was selected.

My choice was and still would be Lamb. I also thought Harkless and Jones would be better.

Way too early to tell, I get that

    Also, never draft for need

Never draft for need has always been the motto that teams seem to always forget. Lamb is the only player I would agree with, but we still had to feel out our existing guards, sad but true. We were, are still, extremely thin at the center position. Leonard may someday get to a starting level. Maybe worth like a pryzbilla type player with some offense. I'm hard on him, but I have a right to be. He is still a lotto pick.

This off season has many bigs coming out. What that means is the elite will get picked up, severely overpriced, then the mediocre or above average centers will be available. We don't need a superstar center. We need a center that can rebound, defend and block shots.

Agreed on the type of center we need. Hickson does one of those things well, although the team has better rebounding numbers with him off the floor, and so far Leonard does none of them well....although he is a pretty good rebounder I think, so one of them sorta
