Out of all the coaches in the league; which coach is the best coach for defense? I'm more concerned with the coach that can make average defending talent into a very good team defense.
I know pop is probably #1. I guess I'm asking this question because I think we need a defensive coach as an assistant. I know a lot of you won't like this but maybe mike brown could be a good assistant?
Thibodeau. Others: Skiles (hes out of the league but he'll probably have a job next season), Pop, Carlisle, Doc Rivers (though he usually seems to have an assistant coach act as a sort of D-Coordinator).
I think mark Jackson is really good with coaching te perimeter d. Golden state reminds me a lot like how Seattle played defense.
Team USA has won 2 gold medals with this guy named Nate Mc Something? Muffin? Miller? coaching the defense. He's really suppose to know his stuff.
GS made Mike Malone the highest paid assistant in the league when they hired MJ to cover for MJ's lack of experience with X's and O's. Malone is generally credited with masterminding the defense, though as time goes on it gets harder to tell who is responsible for what. I suppose we won't really know until one of the two are gone. They definitely play hard for MJ though and that's part of the equation.
