does it seem like most of the Blazer games on national TV (ABC/ESPN or TNT) are home games?

The Blazers probably encourage it hoping that when the other TV crews show up they can eventually talk someone into staying and replacing HCP.

Whoa just realized this too. I checked it, and 8 of our next 9 natl tv games are at home this season. Our location (availability for a 10:30 game being in the west coast) probably has something to do with it.

We have the best stadium fans in the league! That's why!

I was wondering if it was fan reaction, because i don't think ratings would be an issue.

Portland fans would probably watch the game regardless of who is playing, because the Blazers are playing.

It's just an interesting thing I've noticed recently.

I've seen a few Nationally televised games and some of those home crowds are weak in comparison. Although the Denver fan base is pretty good. It's kinda cool man! I like seeing the home crowd rocking on national t.v.

When I DO watch (non Blazer) games on TV, it's no fun to watch it with certain fanbases.

Atlanta is the most depressing fanbase to watch on TV.

Not sure when they made the TV schedule, but maybe us being 18-9 at home vs 8-21 away has something to do with it. Getting people to watch a Blazer game is probably tough nationally, so making the likelihood of it being competitive probably helps. Also, to fill that late game TV slot, you need a game being played on the West coast, so that probably helps the chance of it being a home game.

See that shit pisses me off. They had 3-4 solid years of making the playoffs and they can't fill a quarter of their stadium. WTF is wrong with people?!?!

Don't the Braves have the same problem?

I don't know. I've never been a fan of professional baseball. I will only watch the world series.

No. Braves have always had good fans. The whole "chop" that they started back in the early 90's. I'd say Atlanta is definitely a baseball town.

This isn't from the 90s, but in the early 00s they were playing playoff games with 10,000+ empty seats.

For reference, the article is about their 2010 game which had over 53,000. I'd say 80% full is pretty bad attendance.

It's all about the time slot. There are only 5 true west coast teams. They need a late game.
