Anyone ever have a casual sports fan try and impress you talking sports but just be so blatantly wrong and get adamant about what they're talking about? Yesterday a guy was trying to convince me that Michael Jordan was drafted by the Blazers. I told the guy he wasn't but he wasn't having any of it. So I just smiled and let it go. I don't know if those people just assume that everybody is as dumb about sports as them or what.
...that is very common for the "1-upper" mentality and very annoying for those that actually know shit!
Whats more annoying is when someone actually follows the team and still doesn't have a clue what the fuck is going on. Like all the Lamarcus haters who want to trade him because they are pissed that we are probably not making the playoffs this year.
This thread isn't about complaining about other S2 posters. Your contribution was worthless and childish.
yes i have a buddy that will try and tell me all about the top story on espn every day, but not really have any idea what he is talking about hilariousness
a guy out here was pumped about ochocinco on the pats, like he was the missing piece "gonna give them the long ball"... but they were turned off by his off the field problems "with the law" (this was before the domestic thing)
My favorite is when someone expresses an opinion very similar to what was written in the paper that very morning. I don't know how many times I wanted to explain Bird rights to someone but decided not to bother. I usually just let them talk and play dumb. Small talk is part of our culture, so I don't hold it against anyone. I actually really appreciate people who don't give a shit about sports.
A good buddy of mine is a UFC fanboy. Saying he's gonna start training and take a crack at it. Its kinda nauseating.
