I already knew the captain's awards and stats were mindblowing but this is freaking ridiculous. I saw the list on cl<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>19 times all star (WTF)15 times all nba team (10 times first team, 5 times second)11 times all nba defensive team (5 times first and 6 times second)6 MVP titles2 Scoring Titles56% Carrier FG%Rookie Of the Year Award</div>19 time allstar? That really deserves a "wtf". And i think some guy at cl best described the issue. Everyone in the league knew that if Kareem got the ball in the post he was going for a sky hook. Everyone knew it. And couldn't stop it. And seriously, that's greatness. That oponents know what you're going to do but can't stop you. The knock on him was that he played with magic, but he did lead the bucks to a championship in it's 3rd year of existence. He also won with an aging oscar roberston.Oh and my spelling is "ubeliable" also
19 out of 20 years of his career he's been on the all-star team, that is jaw dropping.Considering how he gets older over those 20 years.
I wish we had centers in the league like this today. Guys like Kareem, Wilt, Russell, Hakeem, Robinson, Ewing - all we have is an ageing Shaq, Yao, and Big Ben.
Kareem was simply amazing when he played with the bucks. Everybody remembers him as a Laker, but he DOMINATED in Milwuakee and had a bitchin "fro-beard" to match. He may have been the most dominant player in NBA history, second to Wilt.
If he had even slightly above average defense he could eaily be considered the GOAT. But he was a stiff on the defensive end because of his stature (but his freakishly long arms did help him rack up weakside blocks).
