One of the things that was overlooked in this game was the absence of Darrell Arthur. The guy took a ridiculous fall against the Heat on Friday, where his head hit the floor and bounced.

Arthur not being in the game might seem inconsequential, but he's a starter-worthy talent for most teams that is good for about twenty minutes at PF/C every night. That really killed our frontcourt. Randolph plays 35 mpg and Arthur averages 17 mpg, so that's like losing upwards of 52 mpg in the frontcourt for a team that works inside-out. There's really no reason for guys like Dexter Pittman and Jon Leuer to be playing any minutes outside of garbage time. I really attribute that to the early deficit.

I was looking for a video of Arthur's concussion, but I couldn't find anything. Anyone else see that one last Friday? Looked painful...

I've always loved Bayless, so I was happy he was a huge reason we are one step closer to keeping our pick

I wasn't a Memphis fan last night; but I've been a fan pretty much all season. They are a great defensive team, IMO. I want them to be the team to upset the okc this playoffs.

It still boggles me that so many people try and put the loss on one player. I also think it's pretty hilarious that they come out in full force after a loss; completely ignoring that the bench played pretty bad. Then it's even more hilarious that there were two other starters that shot poorly; but I guess they get a pass.

Basically what NOVoodoo said. I love Noah and if it was a choice between getting Noah or getting Gasol I'd be totally torn. But Noah is essentially exactly the same size as Lamarcus. Gasol is huge: he's a traditional center all the way.

Dwight Howard is a shell of his former self. Also a total tool. Chandler is a poor man's Noah. I'd love to have him, but he's a complementary piece. Gasol is the best player on a better team. (Yes, Zach might put up better numbers, but the offense goes through Gasol more AND he anchors the defense.)
PLUS: Gasol seems to be very hardy for a big man. Both Noah and Chandler (and even more so, another fave of mine, Varejao) have injury histories. (And, of course, Howard has fucked up his back.)

I would be ecstatic if we could have any of those players you mentioned. I'm not picky!

Noahs nice so is Gasol getting old though. I like Gasols offensive game a little better.

I remembered the Blazers drafted him and promptly traded him, but I couldn't remember the details:

I think Portland and Memphis made out OK in the end.
