This is Martin's first year in quite a while not being the headliner of his team. When has Matthews ever been even close to that role? Martin commands way more attention, whether or not he's the better player.

Headliner out of necessity because he was on really crappy teams. On good ones, his true role as a secondary is revealed. He's in that Monta/Terry/Crawful/JR Smith tier-- not stars but can be decent role players on the right team.

    1) Draft BPA (if we have a draft pick)
    2) Sign Big Man with bulk of FA $
    3) Make a decision on whether we're keeping our backup PG
    4) Sign a small player.

While I find speculation about 4) interesteing, I think it highly depends on what we do with 2)

Kevin would be almost as bad as re-signing Hickson or giving Pek the max

And Wes has been on stellar teams? I see very little difference between them in that respect. Martin has at least shown the ability to a carry a team, albeit not far.

I would take any of these players over Martin:

    Redick
    Mayo
    Evans

Can you give me a link to Hickson's advanced stats that show he is terrible?

I think he meant on the defensive end of the court.

I vote "no". Don't really want bad gunners on the team.

I agree. We need the defensive anchor; but more importantly a coach that can revamp a team defensive philosophy.

I agree. All above would be cheaper. I'm not a big fan of mayo, but I would choose him over Martin just because he's cheaper

With the year mayo is having, im not sure he will be cheaper than Martin. I think they both get 6-8 per year.

Actually MM has cited advanced stats like we score more when he's not on the court - that was early. I'd like to see the stats he's using to prove Hickson is terrible because he passes my eye test.

Our guard rotation right now looks pretty good.

I'd rather have Matthews then Martin.

Martin has a better overall game though. Plus its not like we would be giving Mathews up.

Martin is a shit defender. Doesn't make sense to get an offensive player when our d is one of the worst in the league right now.
