Oh, and most importantly, since that game on the 27th:

    March 2 (Minnesota) - Win

    March 4 (Charlotte) - Win

    March 6 (Memphis) - Loss

March 8 (San Antonio) - Win

Memphis should have been a win!

I think hes working pretty good so far. I'm pleasantly surprised on how well hes adapting to the team.

So am I! If you'll notice, in my original post I said "so far" Maynor wasn't working out. He played like crap the first two games, but then he had a breakout game and he's played very well since. As I also said in the original post, "Let's hope he's actually better than this," and so far he is proving to be. That's very good news for the Blazers.

I think people had more problem with the thread title which indicated the experiment was over after only 2 games.

I have tried not to post on this thread because I thought the points were all made and i did not want to pile on. But what I think irritated people was that he actually did look good those first two games. Yes he missed his shots but it was kind of expected coming to a new team and not having played in a couple months. But overall he looked good at running the team. It was a breath of fresh air compared to what we had seen. And when you said we were really no better off it was more of a...... WTF. It seemed like you were looking at the box score and not the game. It just didn't make sense.

Okay, but you must admit that if Maynor was still playing like he was in the first two games you wouldn't be too happy . . . Getting 20 points and 6 assists is a hell of a lot better than how he started.

I admit it, he had a shaky start. But since it was only two games, perhaps a sky if falling thread was not in order.

But then again, this is a forum where we pontificate over minutia all the time.

Either way, I'm so glad everyone now agrees that Maynor is a breath of fresh air.

True at some point I would expect his shooting percentage to get better or for him to stop taking as many shots. But has a point guard he can effect the game in other ways. And I am not sure I would even look at his assists numbers. They can be misleading if his teammates miss shots or make extra passes.

But I thought it was evident that as soon as he stepped on the floor the second unit looked more under control than before.

Interesting. I didn't see that at all. To me, he looked like Ronnie Price. I saw Price do a lot of nice things on the floor, but he just didn't have much of a shot. Maynor seemed like exactly the same type of player in his first two games.

    Eric Maynor's March (five games): 11.2 points, 5.8 assists, 1.8 rebounds, 61.1 FG%, 54.5 3P% in 24.8 minutes per game. Just sayin

Those first two games looked pretty rough from a shooting standpoint, iirc, but he was passing better than Price. Things felt better, but I could see where certain parts of Maynor's game weren't going great.

    Small sample size, but his PER36's as a Blazer (7 games) are damn respectable: 13.6 points, 8.2 assists, 2.4 rebounds, 51.1 FG%, 42.9 3P%, 14.9 PER.
    Here's Lillard's full-season PER36's as a Blazer (62 games) also damn awesome: 17.6 points, 6.0 assists, 3.2 reobunds, 42.9 FG%, 35.5 3P%, 16.6 PER.
