<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Arrest made in JonBenet Ramsey caseSuspect detained in Thailand in connection with ?96 murderVideo: Arrest in JonBenet caseNightly News? Is the JonBenet Ramsey case solved?Aug. 16: Nearly 10 years after her murder, an arrest has been made in the JonBenet Ramsey case. NBC's Mike Taibbi reports.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Updated: 30 minutes agoBOULDER, Colo. - A man suspected in the slaying of 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey was arrested Wednesday in Thailand in a surprise breakthrough in one of the nation?s most lurid murder cases ? a decade-old crime some feared would never be solved.District Attorney Mary Lacy said the arrest followed several months of work. She would not disclose any details about the suspect, but the Ramsey family?s attorney in Atlanta said the man was a schoolteacher who once lived in nearby Conyers, Ga.Federal officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, identified the suspect as John Mark Karr, a 42-year-old American, and said he was already being held in Bangkok on unrelated sex charges. CBS reported he will be brought back to the United States this weekend.Story continues below ↓----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The Ramsey family attorney, Lin Wood, refused to say if the Ramseys knew the suspect and said he knew nothing else about the man. JonBenet was born in Atlanta in 1990, and the Ramseys lived in the Atlanta suburb of Dunwoody for several years before moving to Colorado in 1991. The couple moved back to Atlanta after their daughter?s slaying.Wood said the arrest was vindication for JonBenet?s parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, who had come under suspicion in the slaying. The attorney said the Ramseys learned about the suspect a least a month before Patsy Ramsey?s death June 24 after a long battle with ovarian cancer.?It?s been a very long 10 years, and I?m just sorry Patsy isn?t here for me to hug her neck,? Wood said.Thai police Thursday confirmed they arrested an American suspect in the Ramsey slaying and were holding him pending arrival of U.S. law enforcement officers.Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul, who heads the country's immigration police, identified the man as John Mark Karr and said he was arrested Wednesday in his apartment in downtown Bangkok.Carr was regarded as an "undesirable person" since he is accused of committing a crime in the United States and thus his visa has been revoked, the officer said.Thai police deny Karr held on sex chargesFederal officials in the United States said he was being held in Bangkok on unrelated sex charges. But Thai police said he had not committed any crime in Thailand."When we informed him that he has been accused of committing a crime at home he denied all accusations. It is normal for a suspect to deny the charges," said another senior police officer who requested anonymity. The suspect, who has been in Thailand four times over the past two years, was being detained by immigration police pending arrival of U.S. officials, the police officers said.</div>Is anybody following this case? I personally think the guy arrested is innocent. For some reason he is saying he did it but I dont think he did. His story is not adding up his ex-wife said that he was with his family that Christmas 1996. He lived in Alabama at the time, 1500 miles away from Colorado. There is alot of evidence that would prove him innoccent but he keeps trying to prove himself guilty.
I love how they misspell his name once in the story.Yeah, something is pretty fishy about this... I remember the whole thing being really weird in the first place. I want to see this guy get a guilty verdict before I change my mind about the parents doing it.
he isnt guilty..he's just been following the case so long and driven himself so deep into it that he actually thinks hes done it because he has driven himself mental...this case will never be solved along with the hundreds of murders of children in 1996

The guy is so obsessed he thinks he was there. My police instructor told us he admitted to the murder just so he could leave Thailand where the prisons and treatment are terrible.
The guy is mentally retarded, and he just wants to think in his mind he is the one who did it; but it in reality he did not do it.
My dad went to a detective school all week for police training, and dissected every piece of this case. He was taught by one of the best FBI agents in the country, someone who followed this case. All the evidence they learned pointed the finger towards the parents, I'm 100% sure the parents are the ones who committed the murder. Doesn't anybody else find it fishy that they refuse to speak to the police alone, because they might have different stories. They won't take a polygraph test either, they refuse. This is the letter my dad looked at, he made most of the same points. You guys need to read it when you get free time.http://www.statementanalysis.com/ramseynote/

Yes, the parents did it. Who f*cking cares anymore. I am sick of hearing about a little girl just because she was a white little beauty queen.

Even though this is like what, only one out of thousands of similar cases in America!
What motive would the parents have for killing they're little daughter.....They found foreign DNA under her fingernails that has yet to be matched to anyone.
