It seems we're all in violent agreement this is a non-story.

Reggie just spoke truth to power and got some panties in bunches.

Just a few notes I've been hearing from local media.....

Rose's doctor and the teams doctor have cleared him to play and believe that the next step in his rehab is to start playing NBA Basketball. Rose seems reluctant to take the court. THe motive is unclear, whether its Reggie Rose's take, Derrick just wanting to feel like his old self when he starts playing again or who knows what.

So, when the Bulls publicly released the news through a media source that Rose was cleared weeks ago and that they are waiting for him to give the green light, that was the Bulls getting frustrated with waiting. But, they seemingly genuinely believe that the best next step for Rose is to start playing again.

Anywho, from what I understand, you don't feel like your old self when you come back from one of these surgeries and Rose is going to have to come to grips with that. That being said, I'm disappointed in the Bulls for publicly pressuring their lone stud asset. Not sure what that really gains except perhaps getting Rose on the court a couple weeks quicker in a meaningless season at the expense of bad blood.

Nice discussion, and dovetails with what I see and understand.

Just proves that Rose is not a robot, and Bulls fans are not entitled to greatness, so that when it comes, we should give thanks :-)

I still think he'll be out there soon. He just needs convincing that the next step really is to play in the games, albeit in a frustratingly limited fashion.

Right. Hopefully the organization will do this in a smarter way than to publicly call him out in the press.

I guess the word on the street is that it was Uncle Jerry, leaking information to ex Bulls beat writer Melissa Isaacson. Why Uncle Jerry would have done this is beyond me. Seems petty.
