Games I'm grateful for this year: *the Dallas game where we came back from 21 down and Aldridge hit the game tying three and game winning shot *the game in which we beat the Spurs by 30 *the five overtime games we won *Batum's 5x5 and two triple doubles *seeing Lillard's 37 point game live despite the loss *the last game against the Lakers where we lost but the Lillard made the drive of the season somehow twisting his way around Howard *our first win of the season- against the Lakers with Lillard serving notice to the league with 23 points and 11 assists Also, it felt good when Aldridge made the All Star team in a crowded field. I've loved the emergence of Leonard and Claver abs the acquisition of Maynor. Makes me feel better to acknowledge the positive. Other thoughts?
Also, I have to be patient with the emergence of Lillard. After all, Durant, LeBron, and CP3 didn't make the playoffs in their rookie seasons. It takes time.
Every season has memorable moments. Even the shittiest seasons with Zach, Reuben, and the malcontents prior to the Roy/Aldridge era had some. The question that must be asked is: is the team going in the right direction? There are good signs that it is, with Lillard, Leonard, and Batum. There are also serious question marks that are going to have to be dealt with, like selling high on Aldridge and getting good young pieces and then letting them gel for a couple of years. The road ahead is hard, and to be fucking honest, I would consider a second round playoff bid to be the height of my expectations.
Me too. At least Olshey has a history of trading a teams overrated 2nd best player to take a team from missing the playoffs to making them and advancing in 1 offseason!
I am happy we have Damian Lillard. All else really falls by the wayside. I am happy we have a decent coach. Maybe not the best coach in the world, but he's vastly better than what we had. I am happy that Claver got over his jitters and is showing up to be a pretty decent player. I am happy for Eric Maynor. There's others, but these are the ones that hit me.
Given how weak the bench is and injuries to Wes & Nic I think we've done a darn good job. I think this team has a great attitude. And that tells me good leadership from Stotts and the players.
