<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Star-Ledger - According to a close friend of Vince Carter, his wife, Ellen, began divorce proceedings recently, which may become a significant factor in whether or not he remains with the Nets.If Ellen were to gain custody of their 1-year-old daughter and elects to move back to Orlando or her own hometown in South Carolina, Carter could be motivated to sign with the Magic or Charlotte Bobcats just to stay close, as both teams have can sign him due to their significant cap space. The last time Carter addressed his contract situation, he stated, "I just let it be as it may, and when the time comes, I'll deal with it."</div>Source: The Star-LedgerWow... imagine Vince Carter playing for either the Magic or the Bobcats. Either of those teams would be amazing, whereas New Jersey would suffer a MAJOR setback.
i wouldnt mind seeing VC out of the atlantic division. he always kills us.., and obviously it would give the celtics not only a better shot at the playoffs, but winning the division as well.
Felton would probably be the happiest man in the world if VC came to Charlotte. Throwing lobs to VC, Wallace, Okafor..that would be sick.
I already read about that. I wonder what VInce is thinking. It will be an interesting FA situation next year, but I honestly doubt Vince leaves. Why would he want to leave NJ? He's in a perfect situation there.
He would probably fit better with the Magic than the Bobcats. The Bobcats already have Wallace and Morrison. But I suppose if they signed Vince then Wallace would be smart not to pick up his player option and go elsewhere.
If he plays for either of these three teams, then he'll be in a good situation. I think it would make more sense for him to leave the Nets once his contract expires. Why? Well not only would he be closer to his daughter, but he'd have a brighter future with either the Bobcats or the Magic instead of the Nets.Think about it... how many more seasons is Jason Kidd going to play and be as effective as he is right now? Then, look at how bright of a future Orlando already has, and picture Vince playing on the perimeter with the beast Dwight Howard playing down low. In Charlotte he'd have a more balanced team... Felton, Vince, Wallace, Morrison, Okafor, May, Knight, etc.
This is actually big news. It will be interesting to see where he goes this next offseason, too bad about the divorce but it happens.
Anyone got pix of his wife? hahahI don't see why he would stay in NJ, they don't have a chance at a chip anytime soon, go to a winner. Charlotte with VC has more hope of a chip than NJ. NJ is a couple years from really dropping off, VC perhaps leaving, JKidd getting old... just RJeff

Charlotte is too young of a team and they have no depth.
If VC wants to go to orlando so he could be close with his wife, he will know that before he becomes a FA. I think the nets will be smart and get something for him. Thats is he wants to leave, but I dont think he will.
wow, if orlando signed him, they'd be very dangerous. title contenders actually. they'd have alot of different pieces that fit perfectly together. playmaking/scoring pg, shooter, slasher, defensive/rebounding beast, talented big. OUCH.
Whatever vince does he better do it fast. People lets not speculate VC is goin to expire soon, hes just like iverson, if he doesn bring a championship to a team soon he will not get another chance too.as for him goin to the magic, i wud prefer to see him with charlotte, they still need a top caliber all star. okafor did his job and he needs help.

I'm glad you mentioned RJ, but was surprised you didn't mention Krstic. And who knows: maybe Marcus Williams will be a good PG, Boone a dependable PF. Actually, I think Thorn has a good mixture of veteran players, with keeping an eye on the future with all these young guys.
I hope VC does go to ORLANDO!!!! They are onew team that I wouldn't mind see killiing the rest of the league!!!! As good as Krystic and RJ are and could get, with kidd ageing the window in NJ is starting to close... fast. I'd like to VC get on a contender.NJ is ok but does anyone seriously think they have a shot at winning it? I doubt it!
NO!!!! But i seriously doubt he will be heading out of NJ. he is losing some juice he at the age of 30 he might be like joining KG and AI becuas all 3 of them are getting older and are losing it
why does everyone think if vince carter goes to a team they will win a championship?he isnt that good
