Par for the course. Sounds like typical businessmen. They must be doing great work, since they're all getting raises. Everybody wants to get paid more for doing less.
Some think unions are the downfall to our community. I thought unions were there to protect workers who could be exploited or taken advantage of. We were both wrong. How is it that the union people at Tri-met got little to no raises while the non-union management got much bigger raises. I thought a union was to protect against this kind of stuff. A list of the top 50 non-union pay increases (PDF) obtained by The Oregonian shows that McFarlane started green-lighting raises for managers making $110,700 or more in February 2012, even as he publicly talked about how he had frozen their pay.
