    This is the one situation where sucker punches are still kinda bad ass. Plus, he says "BOOM!" right as his fist connects, how much more bad ass can a sucker punch get?

    I like watching the guy in the grey shirt contemplating it in his head and asking his friend if he has his back or something.

    Nah. The guy that got knocked out looked like he was menacing somebody who didn't want to fight and it's not like he monkey stomped the guy once he was down.

    just seems like the sort of crappy thing that would happen as a result of the video coming out.
    I have no clue. I don't know if self defense can be expanded to be defending others as well? Seems like it SHOULD be able to, but I don't know.

    Put it this way. Imagine it was a woman being harrassed or physically threatened by that drunken goon. Would it even be an issue that some good samaritan came to her aid?

    In Oregon, I think he would be fine:

    Except as provided in ORS 161.215 and 161.219, a person is justified in using physical force upon another person for self-defense or to defend a third person from what the person reasonably believes to be the use or imminent use of unlawful physical force, and the person may use a degree of force which the person reasonably believes to be necessary for the purpose.
