Damian Lillard is the real deal.

He has a real shot at being a superstar, not just an All-Star, but one of the ten best players in the game.

I've been holding myself back, trying to be cautious about getting too optimistic about this kid, but I'm done with that. It's time to get excited about having a legit #1 option again.

It's a great day to be a Blazer!

I've seen enough from him to know he's gonna be our franchise player for many years. He's my favorite Blazer since the Drexler/Porter era!

I totally get that. There is apart of me that is terrified to love this kid as much as I really want to. But just a few games into the season I found myself strictly watching Lillard. It been a long time since I have been a fan of a player where I fully and complete expect every shot to go and/or be an amazing shot.

Jrue Holiday was a lot better last night than I ever remember him. In the not-so-distant future they could be dueling it out for title of best PG in the league.

But yeah, I've been watching other teams a little more lately, and over and over I think to myself, "That's an easy bucket right there." "Why didn't their PG shoot?" "How did he blow that layup?" Lillard has drastically raised my expectations of what a starting NBA PG should do.

And it's so much fun watching him add features to his game, like the season is a big lego set and he's just piling on blocks.

If I was Olshey and/or Stotts I would tell him to work on his tear drop runner. This would nearly complete his offensive game and make him almost unguardable

We should trade him for draft picks.

Agreed. Acquiring even the #5 pick in the draft would be considered an upgrade on this #6 pick.

I thought he showed a teardrop at the start of the season... haven't really seen it since then though.

Yes... that's exactly it. I feel like someone who has had their heart broken over and over, so I've been guarded about letting Lillard into my life, but now I'm ready to break down that wall baby!!!

    In March he's at 23.7ppg/7assist/51%/45%/85% with a 3.7:1 Assist/turnover ratio over 9 games.

Crazy to think this could be his "breakout" month when we've been gushing over him all season.

My one tiny complaint is that I think he could be putting up more assists. I think he's capable of putting up more assists. Not sure how much of that is his shitty teammates though.

7 assists for a scoring point guard is nothing to sneeze at though. Yeah, Damon averaged 9 but whatevs.

I only mention it because I think he's capable. I'm not saying I expect the kid to average 10 assists per game, but I'm confident he'll get his assists up to 8 per game next season.

Well since I watch him almost exclusively i have noticed that he is amazing at getting the ball to his teammates WIDE OPEN sometimes. And I get pissed when they miss those "gimmies". Its like I hold the rest of them to the "expected to make" standards that I have for Lillard. But in all seriousness he could easily average 10 assists a game if he really wanted to i think. Although I not sure I would rather have them shooting over Lillard though, tough call.

I've noticed that too. Take last night for example:

    Batum 3-9
    Matthews 3-12

    Even Aldridge was 13-28...

Batum and Matthews are in the top ten for 3 point shooting (i think) but I do wish we had another money long range shooter at times. If we always had a least one player that was hot from long range that would get Lillard another 2-3 assists per game and open the floor up even more.
