There was a Gortat can be had thread; which briefly talked about Frye. I felt as though he needed a thread all to himself.

From his upbeat and positive comments about the community, to still owning a summer home in Portland; Channing Frye is one player I always missed. He was nothing but class for the team and the fans.

In a perfect world, I wished he stayed in Portland; "Keeping it weird". He had the terrible heart infection that caused his heart to enlarge, and coming back is bleak; but Frye says he is 95% sure he will play in the nba soon.

I want nothing but success for the guy. I hope he will always "Stay Weird" and remember that most the fans in Portland miss him.

He's got a huge heart, even without all the inflammation. I'd take him back in an enlarged heartbeat.

I did a bit of google research on the enlarged heart issue but I'm not exactly sure about the cause of Frye's conditon. Does anyone know if his is treatable/curable?

He seems very optimistic on Twitter, for what that's worth. IIRC, the cause was viral in his case but I could be wrong. I thought I was wrong once before, but I was mistaken.

I thought Charmin was pretty funny and I liked his blog, but as a basketball player? ...

In Stotts system he'd be much better than under McMillan.

Aldridge has 10x the post game he had when Channing was here, he'd be much better as a floor spacer (and necessary) in our offense.

He actually got the point where he was pretty decent guarding in the post while in Phoenix. He could guard down low with Aldridge roaming more on defense and stick him at an elbow/top of the key on offense.

I think, if healthy, he'd be great here for 25 mpg next to Aldridge and a good pick n roll center (Dame needs one). Gortat and Frye (if healthy) would be a great combo for us. They do everything we need to compliment Aldridge.

Basketball player not so much. But if Portland actually used freeland + Barton + 6 mil for gortat and taking back frye's contract could be a good thing.

His time here was spent playing out of position alongside Lamarcus, and they have a lot of strengths and weaknesses in common. When Aldridge was out for a significant amount of time, he was quite a bit better than serviceable. I think (assuming he's healthy enough and the price is right) he'd be an excellent choice.

Are you saying he choked a dog, or is that some sort of euphemism?
