I think in the near future (5 years)... if the raptors make it to the conference finals or nba finals...we cud have another team in canada, i relly hope bball comes back to Vancouver...Thats a big IF there but id like to see itany1 else's thot on what will happen if the raptors start winning?
IMO there shouldnt even be an NBA team in Canadaits National Basketball Association not a ton of teams from the united states and lets throw a canadian team inthey should have a seperate basketball league for Canada
How can you say that. The NBA was started with Toronto. The first ever game was Toronto vs. New York.I wish another team would come back, so hockey would die down. Vancouver has been looking for another team, but there just hasnt been anything out there.

Toronto has enough money to make a franchise let them in. Do u c canadians say dont let Americans in the NHL? <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Asian @ Aug 25 2006, 03:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I didnt say anything about the ABA.Read this.http://www.nba.com/history/firstgame_feature.html</div> "Toronto was also the site of the league's very first game on Nov. 1, 1946, with the Huskies hosting the New York Knickerbockers at Maple Leaf Gardens."its a confusing article...cud any1 look at it and tell us whos right?
It means Toronto was one of the 1st teams in the NBA.Before the raptors, they had the Huskies. Then they were moved, I dont remember where, then the Raptors came in the mid 90s. So before you jugde, do some reseach.
Look my bad i think u cuaght me there. But ive never heard the sayin b4 the raps were huskies and so and so...im lookin into it....can any1 else clarify?edit:ahh found it:The Toronto Huskies were a Basketball Association of America (a forerunner of the National Basketball Association) team based in Toronto. They played their home games at Maple Leaf Gardens and the team colors were blue and white. The team was founded in the BAA's inaugural season of 1946-1947. On November 1, 1946, the Huskies hosted the first game in league history -- which the NBA now regards as its first game -- losing to the New York Knicks. The team went 22-38 in its only season before going out of business.Future all-star Ed Sadowski was a member of the Huskies, and began the season as player-coach before moving to the Cleveland Rebels after 12 games. George Nostrand, at 6'8", was the tallest Husky, and he too transferred to Cleveland soon after the start of the season. The team's leading scorer was Mike McCarron, with 649 points in 60 games. Gino Sovran and Hank Biasetti were the only Canadians on the team, each playing six games. So they were in the first NBA game, but it didnt start with Toronto, they only had one season. 50 years later they resumed here. U cant say the NBA began here bcuz it didnt
It would be good if there would be another NBA franchise in Canada, but I think exceeding the 30 team total would be a little weird. I say move the Sonics to Vancouver!!A city which I would love to see have an NBA team in Canada is Montreal or Ottawa. A NBA team would do great there!!Oh and someone mentioned the CFL...I bet you anything that more people, maybe 2 times more follow the NFL then the CFL...if there were an NFL team in Toronto we'd be sold out every game.
I agree, it would be great for Vancouver to get a 2nd chance with an NBA team. Unfortunately, I never got to witness the Grizzlies when they were in Vancouver.
The Raptors aren't the only team that has a lot of great young players...You say with the talent they have they could win a title...etc...well look around the league, your not alone.

Hockey is a canadian game, just cuz americans have moeny doesnt mean they shud act like they own the game, cuz thats not fair.... Basketball is an American game, and if Canadians have game, and American players show interest in coming over here, then i say Basketball in Canada should continue
