As I've come to understand, other than, perhaps, certain card games, craps gives the player the best odds against the house. I'm with ya there. I would like to get some training on the game, as well.

BP were in Chinook Winds last Tuesday morning. Me thinks that would have been the perfect time to get some individualized attention from the craps dealer as there was only one other playing at the table. Not sure where other such training even exists.

Hmmm.....I wonder.....do any of the local community colleges provide any remote classes on the subject(s)?

Craps is pretty much the only casino game I play. Like Denny said, social aspect is awesome and its the only thing I win at with regularity. Never won dick on slots, even the Wheel of Fortune one.

I remember Chinook Winds having this community Monopoly slots game. HUGELY successful in terms of lots of winners and paying out relatively well.

I asked about it this past week when I was there. The associate kinda looked the other way and said, "Yeah, they took that one out of here a long time ago."

    Heh, it's no wonder. :MARIS61:

Oh silly me. Of course you were!

And who knows, maybe after drinks and a romp you may even get around to the craps.

I enjoy some of the lesser-known card games that don't involve a casino dealer in the actual game. Problem is everyone and their parents, kids, and pets knows Texas hold em these days, and there are plenty of people who are good at it. But in most casinos there are tables for other poker variants, and those are the ones I tend to gravitate towards. Omaha Hold Em is one of my favorites; people tend to think it's just like Texas Hold Em (and it is in some ways), but there is different strategy and strength-of hand variables to consider. A lot of the people who go play it are like "oh, that game looks interesting and is similar to Texas Hold Em; I'll give it a shot." For me that means money in the bank, baby!! ...Sometimes. :o)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sportsbook

In the United States a sportsbook or a race and sports book (sometimes abbreviated as book) is a place where a gambler can wager on various sports competitions, including golf, football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, horse racing, boxing, and mixed martial arts. The method of betting varies with the sport and the type of game. In the US, the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 allows only Nevada, Oregon, Montana, and Delaware to legally wager on sports.

Where can you bet on sports in Oregon?

Is sports betting legal in Oregon?
Oregonians are technically allowed to bet on sports, but only through legally licensed businesses. Being that there are none, you cannot currently do so legally. In most states, the Internet is a place where you can legally wager on sports, but this is not the case in Oregon. They have banned sports gambling from being an option, and you are therefore relegated to not betting at all or doing so illegally. We do not condone breaking the law.

Blackjack to make a bit of bank.

Craps if I just want to have fun.

Poker if I have 7 hours to make some money.

Basically, craps, because I won't care if I lose the money it takes to have that fun.

That's not true. There are quite a few off-track sites to bet the horses, including Portland Meadows, where you can still bet via satellite.

I agree with ya'lls sentiments on craps. I usually do that, blackjack, roulette, and if things aren't going well, I'll put the rest of my money into video poker and the bar. It's a scam, but at least it's a scam where don't have to wait for the waitress for a free drink. I'll spend my last five bucks in video poker and just pound them down.

I don't gamble that often. Losing $500 on a weekend in Vegas pisses me off more than paying ToB $200 on an election bet.

"Let it Ride" is my favorite.
your hand is also the dealers hand. Pair of 10's or better is 1-1 ratio payout minimum. So if you get a pair of 10's or better on your first 2 cards as you got delt. That's $15 profit right there as the minimum ani is $5 a spot. (3 spots).
And even if your third card (which the dealer delt) matches one of your first two first cards that you received (delt) is still a $10 profit for you as long as its a pair of 10's or better.
I have received $80+ on two pairs or better because I think that is 3-1 pay out. Its been awhile...
Straights or same suit only adds more to your payout. :D
Make sure there is at least 3 people at the table for Let it Ride. A full table of 5+ people will give you less chances to win on good pots.

I hear ya. 'Cept with me, it's more like losing $20 at Chinook Winds is worse that the $50 I'll be ponying-up to Sly.
