Basically if you make the argument that Duncan is really playing Center next to smaller players in Splitter, Diaw, Blair, and Bonner then yes Aldridge is at the very least in the running for #1 PF, and with Love hurt and Griffin's minutes being down on a deep team as well as Bosh being down to 3rd option then the case is pretty strong for Aldridge at #1. If you list Tim Duncan at Power Forward, which this list does, then it's laughable to suggest he's anything other than the #1 PF in the game right now.
Sorry, will move past it. Agree with their assessment that Aldridge is the top PF in the league this season. I don't see a great argument against him as #1, personally.
Duncan is still the best PF in the league. They play him at Center at times but we also play LMA at Center (even though he doesn't want to be called one). Nothing wrong with having the 2nd best PF in the game though.
He is putting up 21.8/10.5/48%/85% in March. The team has gone back to running much more of the offense with him in the post, and it looks better. Lamonster has somewhat replaced LaDirk. Wish I were confident this is what we'd be going with next year. But at least for now it's good to see.
On a per-minute basis, definitely. The big difference is that LMA is out there on the court 8 more minutes per game. If you put Duncan on the Blazers, that means we'd be seeing 8 more minutes a night of Leonard, Hickson and Babbitt, and that's a drastic dropoff in talent. We'd get absolutely killed, even with the added per-minute productivity of a PF playing with a 24 PER. Then you add in that Duncan has missed 9 more games this year than LMA, and it's even closer. Imagine starting Hickson and Leonard all those nights with Babbitt and Freeland backing them up. Ugh. That's 9 losses right there. I can see an argument for either. On a team with a lot of talent like the Spurs, Duncan is superior. On a thin team like ours, Aldridge is the better option. I don't think there's a clear-cut "Best PF" overall because they both fill such drastically different roles.
Honestly, he should be able to. Duncan is a million years old and Aldridge is entering his prime. If he can't dominate a guy who is 36, there's a problem.

I agree. The only legitimate sources are posters and writers who think exactly what I think on any given NBA topic. The others are clowns.

There are plenty of PFs entering their prime. Should they all be dominating Duncan? Kobe Bryant is 34 ... should all young SGs be dominating him? Michael Jordan won his last title at age 34. Shouldn't younger All-Stars have been able to dominate him? Steve Nash is what, 39, and you were one of the biggest proponents of the Blazers trying to get him (for LMA, no less, IIRC). Very, very dumb post.
I laugh at how some posters get so upset about an article favorable to LMA. There is nothing at all wrong with Shooter's post, other than it offered an opinion on LMA that goes against the belief of a small minority of posters who happen to be dominating this board lately.
True, but the author has at least been published in some NBA magazines. Seems to be the Cav fans' version of Ben Golliver, that the Cavs have given him media credentials for the last 3 years. So, he's at least more than some random guy who doesn't follow the NBA.
