    All,

Looking for a few tips on a vacation spot for when I can come back to the states on an R&R. Since we have the little ones at home, it's only going to be about 4-5 days max and I don't want to spend a bunch of it getting to where I'm going from Tampa, so I'm looking at Caribbean spots. It's de facto going to be our 10th anniversary celebration, so I'm ok spending a bit more than my normal cheapskate self would.

All I'm looking for is something that's probably (though doesn't have to be) all-inclusive food and drinks, a place with a spa for massages, no kids, romantic/privacy adult things in the rooms (Mrs. FromWA is shy) and maybe a little bit of sightseeing nearby (like Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica, or the Pitons in St. Lucia). Jade Mountain is a bit too balla' for me, but a lot of what I'm looking for. Anyone have some tips?

Iberostar in Cancun is the nicest all-inclusive in Cancun. Ive also been to Riu Cancun and also Riu Palace hotels both in Cancun.

I went to jamaica for my honeymoon and i dont know, it didnt do much for me. Unless you go on a tour, you cant really leave the resorts. We did take one tour to the Dunns river falls, which was def worth it

Yeah. I've heard that you're actually at risk in some of those countries as tourists. Robbery, rape, kidnapping, etc.

Probably a good idea to bring along a navy seal team!

I would not recommend anyone going to cancun now unless you want to get shot at.

South of Cancun is Cozumel, it's beautiful! Went there on our honeymoon!

I know three couples that went to Jamaica at different times. One couple had a terrible trip there. All said they wouldn't go back.

    Go Blazers

my buddy bought some weed in jamaica on his honeymoon, stuffed it into his sock and walked around all day

when he got back to the hotel room and opened it up, it was a log of human feces!

I'd avoid the Turk islands, they were decimated after one of those big hurricanes. Maybe check out the Virgin islands. We stopped in at St Thomas and St Maarten (not virgin islands) and had a pretty good time.

I've gone every single year the past three years. Have never had a problem.

I'm going with Jade Mountain. Asking a wife to put up with 2 toddlers while I cavort around Afghanistan for 2 years seems like it's worthy.

Agreed on both counts. I stayed in Riu Palace Riviera Maya in Playa Del Carmen a couple years ago. It was awesome. we stayed in a room (there are 4 of them I think) that had a private outdoor hot tub upstairs with a great view of the beach. This is the nicest of the Riu hotels there and you can get into the restraunts and activities at the other 5 Riu hotels there as well. They had scuba diving, snorkeling, para sailing, and a car rental on site.

I went to Jamaica last year and it was ok. Dunns River falls was kind of cool. My wife and I climbed it ourselves, not with a group and I think that was more fun. There was also a cool area in the mountain where we went ziplining and hung out and swam in a river- that was probably the best day there for us. I was kind of dumb and didn't pay attention to warnings about leaving the resort by myself at night-I was just going to a store down the street for some snacks- and nearly got into some trouble with people who wanted me to pay them to "keep me safe".

"like Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica"

When there as a kid, you could get your own lobster from a diverted part of the falls. I vote Jamaica -- Mo-bay area. Stay away from the Ganja though (wags finger).
