I'm planning to go for the first time in my life this coming September. Anyone else been? Fun? I hear the parade is da bomb. I love parades. I'm really wanting to see the bull riding, though. Let 'Er Buck!
I have been a couple times when I was a kid. Meh, it was ok. Kinda entertaining. if you.live in Oregon its worth it to check it out.
I went in college once. If you like rednecks and a lot of booze, it's a good time. I had fun, but then again, I had fun wherever I went when I was 19.
My sister lives in The Dalles. Probably will hang out with them. Planning to take my girlfriend. She likes the country scene.
It was a fun experience, but like I said, it wasn't hard at 19 with a fake ID to have fun anywhere. If your gf is into that stuff, you'll have a good time. I did learn how to swing dance very well that weekend, which is a skill I still have, and my daughters think is hilarious when we're at a wedding and I'm dancing with them.
Her rich husband needs to get her a GPS. I spent a couple summers in The Dalles. The area is nice. The town sucks.
Oh, she knows her way around. She lived many years as a socialite in the NW Portland circles. Sold plenty of real estate for Windemere. She's now just chillin', digging the small town life. Heh, her husband's son just won a lawsuit against a teacher's aid who had her way with him and a number of the other high school boys. Small town life is strangely different. She just laughs.
I think I remember seeing something about that in the news. You must have multiple sisters, you said in another thread that one was broke and needed a GPS.
I have a few times and enjoyed myself immensely. Motel reservations may be impossible to find so you might want to get back on the wh, errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, dating sites and find a sleepover.
I might make one suggestion. When I lived in Pendleton the dowtown area was rife with drunks and fights and it generally got out of hand after dark. Now I do;t know if it is the same today but you may want to think carefully about wandering around downtown after dark.
