Start with everything moving away from everything else. If you interpolate where these things were yesterday, they were slightly closer together. Interpolate their positions to last year and even closer together. Keep interpolating back in time and you get the singularity. If you have something that has no size, you have "nothing." There is matter. We can see it. It came from the singularity - there's no other explanation for it, period.
