    Of course...

Wiggins needs to go to Florida State though. UK doesn't develop talent. It's more like the other way around with that program, where the talent carries the program, instead of the program developing the talent.

Seeing how he's down to FSU and UK, I hope for his sake he chooses the school that'll actually help his game out.

BTW - This is a large reason why I was saying this summer the Canadian national team will be a force in the next Olympics. Just look at the talent in the wings with Wiggins, Bennett, Olynyk, Kabongo, etc., as well as all of the young talent currently in the NBA like Tristan Thompson.

Wiggins has been proclaimed as the next Lebron after a long line of other prospects over the past few years.

I think he's one of the only ones who can even get somewhat close to that moniker.

It's not because he's Canadian. His pops just decided to stay and not move home. It would be like giving Italy credit for Kobe...... Learn geography than post!

Wiggins is about to come on ESPNU in the McDonald's All-American Dunk Contest.

Chris Walker (Florida) won the contest, but Wiggins had the dunk of the night (I'll look for video). He also had a pretty ambitious idea for a dunk he couldn't make, where he went behind his knees with the ball instead of between the legs.

He showed a lot of explosiveness, but he also looked a lot smaller than I had realized. Either that 6'7" is generous, or I need to get my tv fixed. He also just seemed like he had a slight build compared to some of those guys.

    Yeah, that's the dunk alright...

Don't ya'll agree he seems a little smaller than he's being built up as? For someone who's apparently 6'7", he came off as a little guy the whole dunk contest.

I didn't really get that impression. Maybe he just looked small because there were bigger guys in the contest?

Here's Wiggins with Derek Anderson, who was always listed as 6'5"

It's on Wednesday on ESPN. I don't know the time, but you know it's probably at like 8 ET like most events are, give or take an hour.

As far as Wiggins goes, he might be a legit 6'7", but he did seem pretty damn slight out there. He's got a thin frame. I'm just saying, with all of the LeBron comparisons, I can't speak to the talent, as none of us can at this point, because we're all just going off his youtube videos and scouting reports, but he has more of a Kobe frame than a LeBron frame. He might be an elite talent, but I'm just saying that he's more built like Kobe at this point, and it was actually surprising to see how slight he was out there compared to his fellow McD's All-Americans.

LeBron's frame was/is bigger, but I don't think LeBron in high school was that much bigger than Wiggins is.

LeBron comparisons are as ridiculous as MJ comparisons.

LeBron obviously wasn't as a big as he is now when he was in high school, but he was still a man-child, like Dwight Howard was. Both players were unusually physically developed, had large frames, and were jacked out of their minds. Wiggins, on the other hand, has more of the Kobe frame.

I'm not comparing abilities or holding him to any sort of standard, but this was my first time seeing him on live tv, and he's built way more like Kobe/T-Mac than he is LeBron. If he succeeds, it'll be because of his basketball abilities and not his physical abilities, because he was one of the least physically imposing wings at the event tonight.

BTW - I think I can say with absolute certainty that none of us know anything about Wiggins' game. We've read the scouting reports, seen the highlight reels, etc., but tonight was the first time we've actually gotten to see the guy in quasi-action.

With that said, I'm not knocking his potential. I want to actually see him play some in the game on Wednesday and see him play some college ball before I make those sorts of judgements. I'm just saying, his build was sort of surprising for the next heir apparent as an NBA wing.
