The blatant sexism of this thread will be off the charts, I'm predicting.

I think it would be awesome if she enters the draft. I would love to have her work out for the Blazers to see what news came out of it. I doubt any team would select her in the first round, but I would not be surprised if some team like the Blazers took a flyer on her in the second round. I would wear her jersey.

I've posed this scenario, but how about if some D-league scrub..like a Royce white or something got a sex change operation and then petitioned to join the WNBA. He/She would probably dominate like a motherfucker, set franchise records, etc. It'd be kind of funny to watch.

Hasn't this happened before with Ann Meyers and the Indiana Pacers?

    On a serious note.

I am all for equality, and if a woman is good enough to play in the league then she should be able to. That being said, if a man isn't good enough to play in the league he should be allowed to play in the their league/ You can't have things like all female leagues and all black colleges and then bitch and complain about equality.

While I certainly agree in theory I am not sure in practice if this will work. I not talking about a girl going to the NBA and playing. I think someday there will be one that can hold her own. I talking about a guy going to the WNBA to play. I get a feeling some guys would try it and fake being only so good to get there and then dominate. And even if they weren't faking I think a normal (or WAY below normal fringe NBA player) would be a star in the WNBA.

There would have to be a way to keep it so they just blend in and not dominate. Almost like if they get too good they must move back to the D-League or something.

The two leagues are different with different goals. NBA wants to be the premier league in the world and show the highest level basketball players. The goal is not to be male, it's just that men naturally have more gifted physical attributes , so only men have played in the past. But, if a woman demonstrated that she played basketball at the highest level, fitting of the NBA, then there is no reason why she should not play.

But, the WNBA is specifically a league for women. It's women at the highest level. There is no room in the NBA for almost any woman, so they have a league of their own so they can also compete. No issue with that. The goal is a place for women to compete. So a man should not be permitted in.

I do realize there is a double standard, but I'm fine with that. Not everything should be equal all the time. There should be balance. Things that can be made equal should be equal, but things that can't, we shouldn't force them to be equal.

That is good way to describe it. The NBA is about the best players in the world. The WNBA is about woman basketball. Kind of like entering a golf tournament where you can play the 55 or older group; the 21 or younger group or play in the open group where anyone who can qualify gets to play regardless of age or sex.
