Re: I've had enough of Team USA's constant celebrating http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writ....day/index.html Interesting article on team USA.
Re: I've had enough of Team USA's constant celebrating I kind of agree with the guy. It just broadens the American stereotype that we are cocky and we showboat too much. But I think he is exagerating. The occasional salute to the crowd is nice, but it can't be after every single successful play. Maybe the big blocks or the fast break dunks, maybe even after a clutch three pointer that make the other team call a time out. But no more than that.

Americans are always looking to be more manly than everyone else and show it. As for showboating, look at the NFL. Endzone dances(which are now outlawed) are stupid. Saluting the crowd? That's just dumb. It's utterly pointless to try and get them to stop, there's always someone somewhere showboating, so just shut the hell up and live with it. We on BBW should be more annoyed that this guy gets payed decent money to write pointless articles like this. At least Paul Shirley's interesting.Oh, not to mention in the article he links to another article ON THE SAME SITE bashing the same damn thing. Why do we need multiple articles on the same crap? Stop paying people to do this.Look at the picture of the guy who wrote that article. I can't stop laughing when I look at his dumb ugly face.
Re: I've had enough of Team USA's constant celebrating Now your not allowed to celebrate when you make a good play? Let them celebrate all they want, the game is played for fun and it seems that is exactly what team USA is doing right now. Fastbreak dunks, fancy passes, alley-oops and high rising blocks are all things to celebrate because they bring energy to the game and can get your team pumped up.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>look at the NFL. Re: I've had enough of Team USA's constant celebrating But you don't want to get it out of hand.Saluting the Crowd is pretty cool. It's good respect to the US, but all the chest bumping and hi fives are too much. Only during time outs.

It's not against the rules and if the other team doesn't like it there gonna have to deal with it. Again I see nothing wrong with celebrating a great play.
Re: I've had enough of Team USA's constant celebrating The way the Suns do it is good. They celebrate, but at the right times. Like in 04/05 I can remember Q jumping into guys when they hit a big shot or whatever.
Re: I've had enough of Team USA's constant celebrating You can't be serious?...High fives, saluting, getting pumped up..Its all part of the game..
Re: I've had enough of Team USA's constant celebrating Every play is exaagerating it way too much. But yeah, when U.S.A. makes great plays and they get caught up in the emotion and celebrate, I think it is fine, as long as they arent mocking or showing disrespect to the other side. They are young guys living a dream of playing and representing their country. Give 'em a break.
Re: I've had enough of Team USA's constant celebrating Yeah some Americans are cocky. What's your point? Any country that is far superior to any other deserves to be somewhat cocky. Wow they are looking for one thing with the way Americans act and make it a stereotype of how all Americans act like.

Italy kept telling D-Wade that he is no Michael Jordan.

That is just plain ignorance. You sound like a redneck now.

Who cares it probably pushes USA to make the crowd quiet if there against USA. the fans are jsut trying to get in our heads and we are doing the same thing back at them. there are fans and players who do that all the time
Re: I've had enough of Team USA's constant celebrating Of course he isn't Jordan, Nobody is.It's just the fact they were taunting him about it, They said ' You dont have Jordan to save you now, You are no Michael Jordan'
