<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The truth is, Team USA has fallen into the same trap it did at the 2004 Olympics. It runs no plays. And if it has set offenses, it never uses them. It still runs isolation plays on nearly every possession. It has no shooters, a weakness that will be exposed when the competition improves.</div>http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writ...what/index.html What do you think?
this guy needs to STFUit isnt even the olympics yet and they have coach K and have been wrecking teams...oh no theyre only going to win games by 15 in the olympics..time to be scared
Well he kinda has a point...as a matter of fact do you know of any teams besides the Mavs, who run an iso offense with no real set plays that has done anygood? No, me neither, the only reason it works for the Mavs is that they have shooters to go along with the guys who can break you down 1 on 1, Dirk, JET, Stack, Howard, ect...
It ain't all that bad, but then again, I can't watch the games. I think the US will have a lot of trouble against Argentinia, but other than that, I'm not concerned.
who needs a set book of plays to remember when you can dominate the other teamyou dont even need a lot of plays unless the game is tightbecause in basketball your always running..you dont have time like in football to think of a play and get everyone set exactly where they're supposed to behe has a bit of a point but when you have that much talent you are way ahead of the basics..you can just run all over teams...
The Dream Team didn't run any plays. But of course, there wasn't as much competition. Joe Johnson could be a shooter. We should have gotten Ray Allen, an amazing American shooter.
this team doesn't run many plays, but the players without the ball do move around, which is something team USA didnt do in 02, and 04. also, this team is playing defense and not turning the ball over. if the US keeps doing that they'll be fine.
I don't think it as bad as he put it. But, I think there do need to be some tweaks for imrpove the weak spots in the team. We deffinately need some plays when we get the the tougher competition. Otherwise we probably will be screwed.
I doubt it. I think that Kryzewski is just doing an awesome job coaching the USA and splitting minutes fairly. The U.S.A. is just dominating on most occasions, and with the talent they have I just don't see them coming anywhere less than 1st, or 2nd.
imo, i could be wrong...........or let's say i hope i'm wrong. U.S.A can beat spain but will lose to argentina with the way they're playing.

US plays it's worst basketball in it's first two quarters mostly, in those quarters they tend to play sloppy and turn the ball over alot but they usually recover very well. And if we are losing we have Wade/Bron/Melo to dig us out of a hole, either of the three can take over a game easily as Melo already showed against Italy. My only real concern is low post presence, we don't have a real center besides Brad Miller really forcing Brand and Dwight to play the position. If they run the break, create turnovers and don't allow the other team to get hot from the outside we should be fine.
Team USA should win this tournament. It would have to take a major collapse of nerves for this team to lose. The last 2 games proves that they are getting better.
i honestly think this guy is stupid....no shooters? I guess that Joe Johnson and Kirk Hinrich no longer exist. Lebron and Carmelo can also shoot from that range and so can Dwyane. As for the run and gun offense with no plays, that is what they need to do. They are in perfect shape so they need to get the other teams tired which is why they win nearly every game by 20 points. I honeslty think this guy is retarted. They havent lost a game yet...So why are they doomed?

This is not a best of seven series, one bad quarter could send you home, with this format there's a big chance of an upset in every game.
He says Team U.S.A. doesnt have enough shooting but combined they are actually 41% from three, and 5 players are shooting over 35% from three. What does the guy want?
He wants JJ, Ray, and Kyle Korver.... Ray is the only one that has a chance to make the team, and he should have.
U.S.A. has enough shooters. Melo, Brad Miller, Joe Johnson, Shane Battier, Kirk Hinrich, and Lebron can all shoot the three well.
The team is fine. They ran into one game where they didn't domiante, and that was against Italy where I believe Melo went down. They have enough players who can shoot the 3 well, and they can score better than anyone else in the world. All they have to do is stop switching on every pick and leaving the other team wide open 3's.
Welll, we sure failed tonight..Greece walked all over us, we never got a defensive stop when we needed it.
