AMERICA'S OUT :HAHAHA: :HAHAHA: :HAHAHA: I told rok, i told alot of people that america won't winning. I knew it.Don't worry people, The saviour will be back in 08.
guess who's smiling inside ??? arenas ??? wait and listen to all the excuses coming in, whether we should've done this or done that.
I'm not one for excuses but we could have used a couple diffrent kinds of players, hopefully we can get the bronze (sic) tomorrow, and the gold in the olympics with a few changes.I wish Noch the best too, although I hope USA lost to the Gold medal winner the same way I rooted for the Heat after the Bulls lost to them in the spring.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Nitro1118 @ Aug 29 2006, 09:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>The team is fine. They ran into one game where they didn't domiante, and that was against Italy where I believe Melo went down. They have enough players who can shoot the 3 well, and they can score better than anyone else in the world. All they have to do is stop switching on every pick and leaving the other team wide open 3's.</div>Looks like I was right. The wide open 3's from terrible halfcourt defense is what killed them. Some of my notes:-If USA wants to win ever again, Bron is going to have to step up. He was domianting towards end of game with his driving, as was Wade most of the game.-They are going to have to stop bi*ching to the ref's (even though there was a 4pt difference when wade got killed and they got layup as 3rd quarter expired).-They can't panic and chuck up 3's. They were down by 4 with like 20 seconds to go and Melo jacked up a 3 with hand in his face. In last 2min or so they were also forcing ridiculous 3's.-Kobe and Billups will be great additions. Kobe will add much needed defense, 3pt shooting and leadership, and Billups will add much of the same.-The pick and roll defense must be improved. It was absolutely hideous tonight.-Melo needs to learn when are the times to shoot. He took some really diffcicult and unnecessary shots. -Free throws! OMG Bron and Melo were awful today from line. Kobe and Billups will improve this.-Chris Paul was starting to panic and get careless and over-agressive. I am sure he will mature by 2008, but I am starting to wonder if Billups and Hinrich are better for the PG position.-We need Amare. He will be fantastic if healthy. You saw glimpses of it with Howard in 1st half, Amare is even more athletic and better defensively. Also better outside.-Bosh must be cut, as should Battier. there will not be enough room.-The ref's need to stop being influenced by the blowjobs they get pregame by Greece and ref a fair game. Some of those no-calls were ridiculous. This performance tonight was an absolute disgrace.
is it me or is wade's shot really shaky? Some games he's making everthing and others he goes back to old wade? Most of his points came off fast break dunks and being spoon fed [generally]. Tonight he was 1/3 from 3 land [and this is the shorteneded line].He needs to improve his shooting so he can actually hit it consistently, he didn't do that this world champs.
No, it's fine. It was butter in playoffs and in Finals. He is just REALLY tired right now, hasn't gotten rest since last summer. But he hit a 3 and had a few shots and some nice moves to basket (awesome reverse layup).

Evertime i watch team usa lately, his shooting seems to be shaky. During the playoffs and finals it was money but it seems to regress from then. Probably because of the fatigue.
Again, I wouldn't worry. He was averaging 21PPG in the exhibition games, and had that 1/11 game, but he will be fine. My only problem with Wade is that he isn't going to basket enough, he is the best driver in the world.
I'm still laughing that america is actually not going to win gold. Really doesn't matter though, the saviour will be back in 08 :happy0144: The big 3's d was abysmal all world champs long, their actually the 3 worst defenders on the team. Wade kept on gambling, it was ridiculous. I was very disappointed in all of them on d and especially wade who i know is a good defender when he puts his mind to it.edit: How much flack is Coach k going to get? I really want to see this
USA's problem is experience, mark my words, Greece has been together for YEARS, team USA has been together for 3 WEEKS. That is a big problem right now, in 2008, I don't think it will be.Team USA needs to go on tours, play exhibitions and hold serious practices all the time until 2008 for them to gel. They will need to have commited players, I think they have that now. These national teams that play against USA are ACTUAL teams that are always together. It would be like if the Miami Heat or the San Antonio Spurs were sent to the FIBA championships. USA needs to adopt that same philosophy to stay successful. It has nothing to do with who's playing and what plays they are using.

If they didn't fail on one of those pick and rolls, and if that Wade foul was called and it didn't go back where Greece hit layup, USA would have won. USA must play better defense against pick and roll.
Chemistry only gets you so far. It's all a matter of playing pick and roll defense and running an offense.Heh the world would be in trouble if we sent the Pistons of 2005-2006 out there. Look at what they did to the Western all stars in this years ASG.
That's exactly my point. The other countries are sending true teams. USA is putting together teams in a matter of weeks. If USA sent the Pistons, Heat, Spurs or another good NBA team, then USA would DOMINATE without breaking a sweat.

That's what every team besides USA has. Teams are winning with far less talent than the USA. USA is working on that, and I think by 2008 that shouldn't be that much of a problem.

USA didn't have this, and even if they were put together quickly they are professionals and could have learned to run a few plays. They were running iso's, no set plays. Team chemistry gets you so far, you need to actually use the plays. USA didn't even try, everything was off of iso's and driving/kicking out. They have so much talent, team chemistry is a beautiful thing but the USA's problems are much more deeply rooted to fundementals and having a different philosophy than the Europeans ever since we were kids.
