Valanciunas ranked first among Eastern Conference rookies in rebounds (7.3 rpg), blocks (1.07 bpg), and field goal percentage (.620). He also ranked second in free throw percentage (.822) and fourth in scoring (11.4 ppg), reaching double figures in points in 11 of his last 12 games (March 6-31). Valanciunas is one of only two rookies (New Orleans' Anthony Davis) in the NBA averaging at least 8.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and shooting 50 percent from the floor this season. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/227084/Lillard-Valanciunas-Named-Rookies-Of-Month
-Dwayne Casey Its a shocker we won the last two games with JV playing heavy minutes and Alan Anderson hitting the bench. Congrats to JV! Only reason I'm still watching this awful team
Somebody needs to remind Casey that his options outside of Valaciunas are Bargnani (having a historically awful season) and Aaron Gray. If he thinks either of those guys would've produced more wins for us he's out of his damn mind.
Exactly, I can understand Ross' lack of minutes because he's behind Demar and Gay not to mention Mr Everywhere Anderson (although the team isn't playing for anything right now so continue playing him). Val is competing with fricking Aaron Gray.
As a Bulls fan and watching Valanciunas play last night,(I realize Noah and Gibson did not play, however) clearly you have a diamond in the rough. Put some muscle on him, give him an off-season to hone his skills more, he can be a force in the NBA in a year or two. He has the length and tools!
