It's an interesting offer. Both bring things to the game that would be positive for Portland, however I'm not sure if either team would do the trade. Who would Minnesota plug in at the 5 spot?
They will find some former Blazers to fill that position. Maybe Oden? Is Ha Seung Jin still available?
Didn't Minne sign Batum to an offer sheet? If so, this deal is moot - it cannot happen (for three more years).
If they wanted Pek, i'd rather they just offered him too much money in the summer over giving anything up for him.
We don't want Pek (well I shouldn't say that but I doubt he is in POR's top 3 for wish list at Center due to a few things like being restricted, will take MAX, doesn't defend much better than Hickson, etc.).
Misconception. He's actually pretty solid in every aspect and very good at defending without fouling. He does the most with his lack of leaping ability, length, or agility. He does have trouble with guys who can hit a mid range jumper.
It will look like Paul Allen is willing to pay whatever it is, since Blazers offered Hibbard a max deal that if Indy doesn't match the Blazers would have had LA/Batum/Hibbard.
I would not trade Nic for him, but I would sign him for 10 million. He certainly is no shot blocker, but he is a space eater down low. He can't guard the centers who play away from the basket, but he does not get pushed around down low. Kind of reminds me of Duckworth. i bet Minnie signs him for 11 million.
Shitty was probably an over statement. I don't believe he would be a good fit for our team. If the Blazers want him, they don't need to trade Batum to get him though http://www.sloansportsconference.co...of Interior Defense Analytics for the NBA.pdf Here he ranks 39. Not great at all for a center
