<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Chiefs place Holmes on PUP, release 14 other players. By DOUG TUCKER, AP Sports WriterAugust 28, 2006KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The odds of seeing Priest Holmes on the field this season got much longer Monday when the Kansas City Chiefs put the three-time Pro Bowl running back on the "physically unable to perform" list. Holmes missed the last nine games of the 2005 season after taking a hard hit from San Diego's Shawne Merriman that caused trauma to the head and neck, and doctors have still not given him medical clearance to practice or play.</div>This is too bad, you don't mess with the head and neck area. Priest was amazing for several seasons in a row and he is a consummate professional. Make way for LJ in KC.
I saw this coming, I knew after his injury and age that he wouldn't return or will do very little on the field if he does. Him and Marshall Faulk are in the same time in there careers, around the same age, both coming off injuries and a better back has tooken there position on there respective team.
Yeah, Priest doesn't have much left. He had a great career with 3 phenomanal years with the Chiefs. He is 33, which is pretty old for a RB, and I think he should hang it up pretty soon.
