Jordan I am not that excited about. He is far from ideal. Lot's of holes to his game. See above. And yet, because of the SportsCenter highlight dunks and blocks and because he is so young, brimming with "potential", he is VASTLY overrated IMO, and will only come at a very high cost to the Blazers. I think he would be a terrible value proposition.

Varejao would be a great fit with the team, except for his injury problems. That is bad ju ju for this team. However, if Cleveland is looking to dump him just to get rid of his salary, I think taking a chance and bringing in another center - like a Dalembert, and having an extended big rotation, including two that are defensive oriented and proven, would be a good way to go.

Jordan occasionally blocks shots, but is as poor a post defender as Hickson is even though he is 3 inches taller son.

May as well go after Bynum if we're interested in Varejo. He's younger and just as injury prone.

We would not have cap space until after the moratorium. I will not be holding my breath or shorts on draft night.

How is it that we always forget this? I'm sure deals can happen pre-moratorium and will be announced afterwards.

Our trade for Bayless wasn't "official" on draft night, because we needed the next season's salary figures to make it work, but we still knew about it on draft night. I would imagine if a deal was made, we'd find out about it.

Deals can be agreed upon, but both parties would have to follow thru with the deal weeks after the draft. Would you trust an organization run by Donald Sterling to do that? I would also think they do not do a straight salary dump until the ink on CP3's deal is dry.

You had definite numbers though. I do not think there has been a deal made with anticipation of the salary cap on draft night.

I think 1st round picks will be much more valuable under the new CBA because they lock a player in at a cheap price

Meaning we don't know how much space we'd have? I'm pretty sure at the least, the cap can not go down, so they'd know a minimum amount they would have that they can fit under.

The cap will be at 60mm according to many sources that seem to have knowledge of these kinds of things. I know our own Storyteller has posted that number on BE once or twice

I don't like any of the options Quick presents. I want Dalembert.

It sure feels that there arent a lot of good options (or ANY realistic ones) to be hopeful for.

Looking at the numbers I am beginning to think he just may be the best option, age aside

Same age as Varejao, wayyyyyy cheaper.

There are just no better options when you look at contribution and cost.

Now the questions are: Would he have a desire to play here and would we have to overpay him to get him to come here?

Also he has expressed some displeasure with his minutes, If the Clippers can get rid of his salary (don't know if that is possible) they can re-sign Chris Paul and make a run at another high priced FA.

I was big on Jordan, but after reading these comments, maybe not.

Dalembert is the most cost effective option of what we are looking for. Would even let us keep some space to sign another player or make a lopsided trade for assets.if a team wants to dump.a little salary
