I realize it was against our incredibly shitty centers, but why don't we want McGee again?

Athletic big who doesn't think he is a jump shooter who rebounds and intimidates the opposition on defense. Sounds like our guy.

#1 sent a message. The shot was going down anyway

#2 was dumb, but he was pushing the ball

#3 he missed a dunk but drew a foul on the illegal pick

#4 bad pass (not his fault) and poor post move (like no one we know has ever made a crappy post move?)

#5 Not paying attention, but running back on defense

    How is he so bad?

The one's that aren't duplicates, are just plays all players make. bad passes, losing your balance, missing lay ups.

He's just kind of a big doof. That's what the videos illustrate. Tons of raw talent, but very doofy. Reminds me of Travis Outlaw a bit.

Anyone else love how MM seems to defend McGee here for making boneheaded plays (after being in the league 5 years), and yet takes any opportunity to pile on Leonard for being A: white B: a poor defender and C: white?

In his first year in the league. And everyone knows, tall white Americans never improve after their rookie years.

I went on basketball reference to compare some centers. I compared Drummond (19), Zeller (23), Ezeli (23), Vucavic (21), Valanciunas (20) and Leonard (20) rookie seasons.

Leonard was right in the middle in FG%, scoring and PER, but easliy the worst at blocks, rebounding, defensive rating

Could he improve his defense? Yes. Is he still a horrible defender that is already behind other rookies who will improve as well? Yes

Looking around the league at our options, cost, etc., I'd take McGee. He's athletic and a capable defender who has a mental lapse now and then. I can live with that. I'd also keep Myrs Lynrd, for the record.
