"Lillard is also the third rookie ever to reach those numbers in a season and the first rookie since Allen Iverson in 1996-97 with the 76ers. " "Lillard is the only player in NBA history to score 900-plus points and make 100-plus 3-pointers in his first 50 career games." "Damian Lillard is first NBA rookie to ever record 35 points, nine assists and no turnovers since turnovers became a stat in 1978-79 (Elias). " "Lillard joined Oscar Robertson in recording 20 or more points and more than seven assists in his first three rookie season games"
OK Einstein, if Davis is so fucking good, why didn't he play 36 mpg? He was the No. 1 overall draft pick by the worst team in the league with a very weak front court and he couldn't get enough PT to win ROY. And it's not foul trouble. He only averaged 2.5 fpg. The answer is simple, his team was WORSE with him on the court than when he was on the bench. The award is ROY, not ROY/36. It's based on actual performance, not potential or hypotheticals. Based on actual performance, the award will go to Lillard and it won't be close. Not everyone who votes is an idiot. They don't all write for ESPN and Bleacher Report. BNM
I think the fact that Im not pissed off by this must say a lot. As in its ridiculous. As mentioned before no one is saying that Davis isnt going to be or even isnt already a hell of player. But this is the 2012-2013 Rookie of the Year Award. And this season Lillard has done more and done more for his team. And until I see stats showing that Davis is having a defensive record breaking or defensive rookie elite year its not even worth debating.
Portland fans are the last fans you throw what ifs to. We've had our fair share of disappointing player injuries. Injuries are part if the game and you are only as good as the team that's on the floor. Tough shit you had injuries. You give us a pass too? Doubt it!
Oh this is just amazing. This post has made my week. Maybe if you guys move to the east then you'd have a shot at the playoffs before hell freezes over Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
sherwood struass is a familiar name, he was from somewhere else. dude is a fucking idiot though if he think Davis is ROY over Lillard. Thing is, he's not good enough for his opinion to matter, so getting "swirsky'd" isn't going to be getting "strauss'd".
dude is from Oakland too. He's about to get some gems dropped on him, yo (assuming they have internet in the OAK-town). http://bleacherreport.com/users/858687-ethan-sherwood-strauss
ahh, dude is a history major from UC Berkley....obviously a hipster trying to be contrarian, he needs to be better at it though.
By the way I think its ironically funny that the Blazers just posted a video on Google + that includes Lillard scoring an and-1 against Davis. Although I also specially Davis blocking Lillard this season.
Im not sure if this was posted yet: http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page/weekenddime-130412-13/awards-ballot
Roy fell one vote shy in 2007, yeah? BTW, I think there's no way Lillard will be unanimously voted ROY. Davis's numbers are pretty darn good for a rookie big man, and he did play 64 games; it's not like he played 20.
