I know your attention is now on the draft, but as fans of basketball, I'm sure most of ya'll will be watching the playoffs, so who are teams you'll be rooting for and against?

I know whenever my team's doesn't make the cut or gets eliminated early, I start to root for teams that have players I like, teams that my friends like, teams that have former players from my team, etc., and I also tend to root against the big market teams and for the small market teams.

So who are your teams? I think it'll be interesting to hear some responses.

    -----

Taking my Grizz out of the equation, I'll be rooting for either San Antonio or Denver to come out of the West. I like the players on OKC, but something rubs me the wrong way about OKC getting a team primed for contention right off the bat, stealing them from Seattle, and not having to go through any sort of suffering before contending. I also think that San Antonio and Denver (as well as Memphis) have the best chance of knocking off the Heat in a seven game series.

In the East, it's more of a question of who I'm rooting against. I'll be rooting against the Heat (for the obvious reasons), and I'll also be rooting against both New York teams, just because I can't stand it when ESPN spends the better part of a month talking about a team like the Knicks, who would be the 6th seed at best out West. So I guess my best bet (unless Rose surprises everyone and comes back for the playoffs) is to root for the Pacers to pull the upset.

Yeah, I'll root for the dubs. I actually liked them when they had Arenas, Jamison, and Richardson. It's too bad that team broke up.

The top 3 for me are
    1. Denver - Iggy has been one of my favorite players for years and having him back with Miller has made that one exciting team to watch. They are just all hustle on both ends of the floor.
    2. Spurs - I love watching the healthy spurs play. The last few years they have brought a more fun and fast beat offense to the court but watching Duncan/Parker play has always been one of my favorite combo's in the NBA for the last 8 years.
    3. Memphis - The toughness on the defensive end and the grind it out game can make the Grizzlies hard to watch in the regular season but its what makes playoff basketball great. Imposing your will on the other team through sheer force and seeing which team is the first to bend and get out of its comfort zone, something I think the Grizz will almost always win at.

Conveniently I think any of these teams can take OKC in the WCF and I don't want to see another damn Lebron/Durant finals.

Since the Blazers aren't playing, I'll be fishing, not watching.

But I'd love for the Teddy Bears to win it all.

I like the Warriors. Used to live kinda in the area as a kid and Curry is now my favorite non-Blazer. Plus their up and down, gun it style is fun as an outsider fan.

Really anyone new would make me happy and smaller market teams would make me ever happier and give me some hope for the future. No Miami, No LA, No NY, although I respect them I feel like I have seen enough SAS to last a lifetime, No OKC, No Boston.

In the end lets see someone new and/or I want as many close, OT buzzer beater games as possible. And if any scenarios somehow help what the Blazers can do in the draft, with trades and/or free agency then Im all for any meltdowns that somehow work in our favor.

Thats not too much to ask is it?

There are very few things that rival the intensity on every possession like the NBA playoffs can. When the crowd starts the game with the "D-Fence" and the crowd reacts like every make or miss is the most important thing ever ... awesome. I have to see a playoff game like that before I die. Preferably in the Rose Garden. I have been to some intense college basketball games (I was at the Hampton vs Iowa St NCAA tourney game in Boise a few years ago) but I would love to see a pro game like that.

Whoever is playing the L*kers, then whoever is playing the He*t.

Also, I'll be rooting for a catastrophic sewage backup in the players' parking garage at American Airlines Arena...

Curry is killing it! Needed 8 threes to break Ray Allen's record and got 7 last night. Will be fun to watch him get the record in Portland tomorrow.

Def. rooting for Warriors and Blazers alum son Clay Thompson.
