How you can say one is terrible and you enjoy the other I don't get. One might have a little bit better talent, but they're still pretty similar.

But no I don't watch it. Or The Voice, or America's Got Talent, or whatever the other crap like it is called.

Do we need all these singers? I think we're good for singers. Stop with all the new singers already.

I think the world agrees with you because the winners of these competitions aren't doing much in terms of success anymore....

Phil Phillips went quadruple platinum. The country singer before him went double platinum. The girl 4 seasons ago went quadruple platinum.

Where are you getting your info from? What girl are you talking about? None of what you said is true. Here is a list of American Idol "success"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_American_Idol_alumni_album_sales

In addition, all of the voice winners and US X Factor winners haven't done shit.

Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood are the only "superstar" winners and they won 7-10 years ago

Didn't your boy Clay Aiken do alright, too?

God, that shows horrible. I watched 5 minutes of it the other night for the first time in a couple years. Its awful. It was at least semi watchable when that Simon dude was tearing those kids to shreds.

mmmmkkk. Looks like idol lied then. Jordin Sparks went single platinum one her first CD, then her next CD was a failure. Philip Phillips first cd went gold, and scotty mcreery went platinum, then gold (selling 349,000 which was 800,000 less than his first album) and I'm sure he will fall off the face of the earth with his 3rd cd like all idol participants tend to do (other than Clarkson and Underwood)

Clay Aiken wasn't a winner, his last CD sold 4,000 copies.

I'm not saying some of the guys didn't have any success, but they have no staying power after the season they were on is over, other than Clarkson and Underwood.

The shows are completely different in how they are structured. The voice is more about the four celebs fighting over the singers and busting on each other. The singers aren't even that good.

I don't usually watch, but my family does. This season I sat down with them during the trials. I picked Candice to win it all at that point and have been watching it every week this season. I think she wins it.

Phillips' "The World From the Side of the Moon" has sold 533,000 copies in six weeks, according to Nielsen SoundScan, making it the fastest-selling debut from an "Idol" winner since the self-titled debut from season-seven champ David Cook sold 811,000 copies in the same time span in 2008.

Where Phillips stands alone is in the success of a single first performed on the show. His coronation song, "Home," written by Drew Pearson and Greg Holden, has delivered at a level unlike any other track performed by a current "Idol" contestant. It has hit No. 1 on a host of Billboard charts like Hot Digital Songs, Rock Digital Songs, Adult Top 40 and Triple A and reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 (No. 7), Mainstream Top 40 (No. 8) and Adult Contemporary (No. 6), while selling 3.3 million copies, more than any other coronation song.

    * * *
Phillip Phillips’ “Home” this week surpasses Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” to become the best-selling song ever released by an American Idol alumnus. “Home” has sold 4,262,000 digital copies. “Stronger” has sold 4,245,000.

“Stronger” wore the Idol sales crown for about eight months. It surpassed Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” on July 1, 2012. Underwood’s smash held the title for nearly five years. It surpassed Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” on Aug. 19, 2007.

Each idol person seems to sell a song well. I attribute that to idol moreso than the talent. If you look at all the idol alumni other than Clarkson and Underwood they suck major balls and go downhill fast
