Just curious as his name keeps popping up and he will be available.

I think if we paired him with Aldridge we would have the same problem we had this season. Obviously Jefferson brings more offense to the table than Hickson, but he's probably equally as bad on defense.

Jefferson is also a bit bigger and stronger than Hickson is.

Not the defensive center Olshey describes, but an absolute huge upgrade over anything we've had in years

Ask yourself: why is he available? Also: what did Utah give up to get him in the first place? Exactly the same questions and answers that apply to JJ Hickson.

Traded for two 1sts and Kosta Koufos

That is the same as being waived outright by the Kings?

Pretty close. Exactly what did any of those things do for the Timberwolves? The point was to get cap space - the rest was throw-in.

we are going after a defensive C - see Quick article, IMO that rules Al Jeff out

Not a good fit. He's a good scorer, but doesn't help teams win for some reason. Also, for a 7footer hasn't been locked up and remained with one team?? Somethings wrong here.
I hope they pass on this one and look for a better, long term fit.

It wouldn't blow my socks off however I would feel MUCH better about getting Al Jeff then even trying to get Nikola Pekovic.

Trying to get Pek would be one of the worst ideas.

Who cares what they did? It's what they could have done. Kahn being a poor drafter doesn't mean it was bad value.

I would agree with this. Yes the Jazz have two young bigs in Kantner and Favors that they want to give more time to. But if they put no effort in trying to resign him that tells me they don't care if they lose him.

Milsap is another one to watch. I watched him last night against Zach.
He is no starting PF IMO. Whoever signs him..... it will be for a back up spot. I think he is too small. He does rebound well for his size, but any talk about trading LMA if we can sign Milsap would not be a good idea.

Al Jefferson would be a huge mistake. He doesn't play defense well and he's a black hole on offense. Now if we had a defensive pf like Larry sanders; it would be a nice pick up.

Part of me would want to do for no other reason that it pisses me off watching him abuse our post players but I agree that if they arent at least decent on defense it doesnt make sense

I think we need a high energy guy on D at center. Someone who cares more about D than O. His energy needs to be spent on the defensive side of the court. Big Al does not fit that description.
