I'm a fan of Shabazz if he somehow falls to 10. He's a versatile scorer that runs the floor, can post up and can take contact going to the rim. This team needs scoring about as badly as it needs interior defense, and he's pretty damn solid in that respect. I think his reputation has taken a bit of an unfair beating because of his high expectations coming in from high school and the age controversy.
That may be. I know many look better after UCLA than they did in UCLA. Being the high profile guy he was, I just don't want the drama. If could come in and be a solid team player, then maybe. I feel/felt the same way about Mayo--and still do. Maybe Shabazz will be different.
If that were to happen Washington seems to the team we should be talking to most. They have two high paid centers and the #5 pick. I would take Nene or Okafor, and the #5, for .......... cap space, the #10, and............what else? (Leonard???)
If I were the GM here's what I'd do: 1) Win the Lottery. 2) Draft Nerlens Noel. 3) Cut him 4 years later after he was only able to play 82 games in 3 seasons. 4) CRY, LOUDLY. Rinse, Repeat. Maybe it's best I'm not the GM.....
It sure would be interesting to see how many people would do the ol' flip on their attitude toward Howard if it did happen. Im not saying I might not be one of them but this board would certainly be entertaining at that point.
Good idea for McGary. Not so sure about Robinson. I think he could have been picked anywhere from 10-13.
This. I can't see any of the other prospects jumping in front of the following 8: Noel, McLemore, Bennet, Oladipo, Burke, Zeller, Porter and Muhammed. The next general tier is Len, Gobert, Olynyk, McCollum, MCW. For all the people saying trade the pick, what value are you expecting to get? I think it could maybe land a somewhat highly paid veteran from a team that wants to shed cap and go young. Gortat? Varejao?
I'd LOVE to get Gortat for the pick. If the Pacers get knocked out of the first round maybe they'll take Leonard and 10 for Hibbert? lol
