I don't have a problem at all with him logging massive minutes. Kobe Bryant had 7 season where he played over 3000 minutes. With the right training (and good luck) guys can hack it.

On a team like ours that has no depth, it's been critical to staying afloat.

His versatility and ability to log big minutes also opens up new possibilities at both guard positions. If we somehow were able to get Andre Miller back, for example, I have no doubt Portland would have no problem working Miller in for as many minutes as he could handle, while strengthening us by playing Lillard for 1000 minutes a season at SG.

Agreed. The fact he didn't totally crumble despite playing all those minutes is a true testament to him. I mean, here's a rookie putting up some damn solid numbers and he's playing the most minutes in the league without his wheels falling off? That impressed me.

    Another nice Lillard "stat":
right after Jaynes wrote an article about how worn down he was, he responded with 38 the next game.

Props to this man. Off by only .5 assists. Not bad. I predicted 18 and 8 so I was wrong about the assists.

http://bkref.com/tiny/lCfVB Here's that same chart as yours, with Lillard replacing Lawson.

And its nice to think that Lillard has shown every reason to believe that those numbers can improve in the years to come.

Interesting to think about if Kyrie Irving had come out in 2013 instead of 2012 who would have won ROY. Kyrie put up better numbers, but played literally half as many total minutes over the season and played for a much worse team. Kyrie probably would've won, but it'd be close.

Ah, of course. Irving would have won hands down.

Every team we played game-planned to stop Lillard No. 1 (he's the PG after all) and LaMarcus No. 2, and the rest of the team was an afterthought. That makes his accomplishments this season even more compelling, IMO. I doubt seriously Anthony Davis had even remotely that much attention paid to him by opposing teams. (I can't get over those Douches at ESPN. Sorry.)
