Tied with Philly for 9th in the East. Oklahoma City will have to settle for a late lottery pick in a historically bad draft. We finished four games behind Milwaukee who will slip into the playoffs for a first round beat-down despite being six games under .500. The Lakers needed 44 wins in the West to get in. While the story of the season will be the Rudy Gay trade the real issue was the abysmal 4-19 start. If we'd gone 9-14, still bad, we'd be in the playoffs. Dunno how we can stop bottoming-out year after year without massive front office changes. We don't have any players to re-sign this summer and no draft pick so if there was ever a time to ditch Colangelo, right now is the time. I mean tonight. I'm willing to give Casey until the end of November to keep his job and prove he wasn't having his strings pulled by BC, but BC has to go. Tonight.
Like I said before, Colangelo deserves to be fired but he won't be. No way management allows him to bring Gay's salary and not pick up his option. No GM could fix his mess in one year anyways. We will have very little cap space but if Bargnani gets moved and Klieza is amnestied, I would look to target some shooting off the bench (Kyle Korver), back up point guard (Livingston), or low post presence (Boozer, Millsap). The last two might be pipe dreams but something along those lines.
