I think they've done pretty well. Its hard to predict how guys from other promotions will fare in the UFC. Nick Diaz beat BJ Penn, lost a close one to Condit (I still disagree with this), and lost to GSP which you can't really knock him for. Melendez just went toe to toe with the top LW and proved he can hang with the best. He didn't win, but Benson sort of just kept the belt rather than winning the fight. Shields has been a bust, not that surprising as he was seemingly getting it done with smoke and mirrors in SF. Nate Diaz' career has been defined by its inconsistency, but he strung together a fantastic run of wins that earned him a title shot, where he got taken care of easily by Bendo.

Looks like none of them will get a belt in the UFC, but they've all fought very high quality opponents and proved they're top level fighters in their divisions (minus Shields), just not the best. No shame in losing to GSP or Bendo, everyone does. I think Gilbert could get another crack at Bendo in the not too distant future. It was a good fight even if somewhat muddled up but Gilbert certainly showed he belonged, his TDD was particularly impressive.

Guess that's props to Duane 'Bang' Ludwig joining them as a coach.

I was disappointed in the main event. Seemed like they were both mostly content to have a kick boxing match and try and out point each other rather than trying to win the fight.

DC did the smart thing and closed the distance and work Mir with some dirty boxing and elite grappling by keeping the fight where he wanted it to be.

Thompson knocking out Diaz was surprising... looks like Thompson may be a couple of wins away from a title shot if he can best some other contenders.
