'Monster' goldfish have long prowled Lake Tahoe, scientists say http://www.latimes.com/news/science...r-goldfish-lake-tahoe-20130221,0,296088.story
This was a cool little beach that I was able to snap some pictures of by sneaking through an open gate at the Whale Cove Inn, south of Lincoln City. Next time I get back there, I'm gonna find out where to access the beach..
That house on the right in the last picture with the white fence around it is my cousins beach house. Absolutely dead serious. I've stayed there twice. That is Whale Cove. A lady named Molly owns the house and her son Brian is married to my cousin Korie. Next door neighbor is Dan Fouts (well atleast his vacation house). You should see the inside of the house, its ridiculous. That little private beach is cool when the tides out. I've gotten drunk and played kick ball there a couple times. To access the private beach you need to drive a little ways past the Whale Cove Inn and there's a private little road. To get down onto the beach there's a little latter that leads you down. A bit steep.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing all of that. By the way, I checked the Whale Cove Inn's website and they want $400 per night for the smaller suites and $800 per for the premium suite. What a deal.
Mean to say, I've actually been in Fouts' home in Sisters. Probably just as amazing. I'm pretty certain he was a good businessman.
Nope...just outside of downtown Sisters. An old girlfriend of mine had an uncle who lived next door..and was a good neighbor/friend of Dan's.
I love Sisters. Great place. If it wasn't for the fires though... I'm going to retire in the Bend area someday.
Didn't want to start a new thread on SUNNY weather. I'm wondering if I should invite "Red" over to share in some playoff bball and grilled goodies with us this Wed. Hmmmmmm...........
This Thursday should be killer. 3 NBA playoff games, the beginning of the NFL draft, and 70-degree weather, to boot!! Can you say, "outside seating, please."
WHAT?!! Dude, I read your facebook page and it appeared you had (have) a LOT of free time on your hands!! :MARIS61:
Whale Cove.... Only private beach in Oregon. Since Whale Cove is private, find a place to park, walk down Oceana Drive, turn right at the end of the street and keep walking. You'll find a trail that will lead you down, and then you can take the small ladder down to the beach. It's a sweet spot. I've been in two of the houses on the bluff (perhaps the ones MZ were talking about). We were looking at a lot there a couple years back, and a couple of peeps happened to be outside, so we chatted them up for a bit, got to see some houses, and they explained how we get down to the beach access. It's a pretty magical spot, IMO. DISCLAIMER: Since it is technically a private beach, I must say enter at your own risk, and I do not advise you follow my suggestions for access to the beach.
