Bosh has proven he can play. But if JO was in his prime and played 70+ games a season who will be better when they retire? To me Bosh is becuase he is playing well rite now and looks to just improve.
O'Neal right now is 100% and is better then Bosh. Remember, he was a MVP type player not to long ago. I see him comming back to form. O'neal, has the egde now, but Bosh is rising fast.
O'neal was the starting PF or C (dont quote me on this) for the All Star '06 he is definitely better than bosh, mostly due to the fact he has way more experience. Expect to see alot from these two next season and will be an X factor to both of their teams.
Who's better right now? I say JO by a fair margin. I mean I'm not taking anything away from CB4, but at this stage in their careers JO is definitely the more complete player. They can both put up numbers but I take Jermaine. Here's why: 1. DE-FENSE! Bosh is improving on the defensive end, but he still needs a lot of work. O'Neal is one of the best defensive bigs in the NBA in my book. He can stay with you, push you out of the paint, swat your shot (JO's timing on shot blocks is great). Bosh will make some loud blocks, but he doesn't have "it" defensively yet. 2. Low-Post dominance - Bosh and JO both can play in the paint as well as stick it from mid-range. But JO is a better offensive player in my book too. Bosh is excellent, especially for his age, but JO has more. JO is stronger, he has a larger arsenal of post-moves, he has those tweener shots, and he is very reliable with the 15-foot face-up jumper. Bosh can shoot from mid-range, but not very well with a hand in his face. JO could score 35+ on most nights if he really wanted to, he's just that good. And at the same time, frustrate his opponent on the other end as well. Bosh can score, but JO's defense is lightyears ahead of Bosh's. 3. Leadership. Bosh is still very young and JO is obviously the veteran here. Bosh will take on more of a leadership role every year but JO is a guy that will motivate you in the game/lockerroom as well as lead by example. Bosh is too young to do that. He's an excellent young star, but he doesn't have the leadership qualities of JO or some of the other stars in his draft class like D-Wade, LeBron, or Melo. He's more soft-spoken.
I would take a healthy JO, no doubt. JO has a better post game, better shotblocker, better defender. Bosh scores more, and can shoot better, but I would take a healthy JO right now.Maybe it will change next season, but for now, Jermaine O'Neal.
this is close right now between j. oneal and bosh..........but imo after 2006-2007 season, i see 2 out of 10 people picking oneal over bosh.my instict says that bosh will have a monster year, that this won't even be a discussion next year ...........llol

You took Bosh and said it was rediculous JO was picked over Bosh. Now you change your story? And better scorer - JO probably is better. What are you comparing? Just the PPG? Put JO on the Raps and he would put up 25-26 a night. PPG doesn't always define the better scorer.
yeah, i remember we had this same thread and cb4 said bosh was better. I'll take JO right now for sure. It's already been said, but JO is by far the better defender and post player, and JO does have an underrated outside game. He can hit the occasional outside shot now.

He has better post moves, better defense...and he is the better player. Although, Bosh MIGHT surpass him this year and if not this year, the year after that. It really all depends on the healthyness of JO.

But I've always admitted that Jermaine is better when healthy.

bosh will have a better career than JO because Jermaines first couple of years in the NBA he was riding the bench when Bosh was an all-star during his 3rd year!
