I dunno. We're talking on US soil v. a US-controlled building on someone else's soil, so that's apples to oranges. I'm not saying it's not intended to get the attention of the US. Just curious how we draw a line because these people on, on their own turf, are attacking more than just Americans. They're attacking their own people. Some of my friends who were overseas fighting have been incredulous how some of the things reported as attacks on Americans have been so twisted. So I dunno...... I just remain a bit skeptical on a lot of the things we read about these overseas "attacks on US".

Well, Denny specifically mentioned attacks on our embassies, not just US soil attacks. Which is what I was replying to.

which is why I quoted Denny, and not you.

Maybe it's a subtle difference, but... for example, you listed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_United_States_consulate_in_Istanbul_attack

"The 2008 United States consulate in Istanbul attack was a result of gunfire on the consulate resulting in six casualties; of which three were the three gunmen, and three Turkish National Police officers. "

But fair enough. In Benghazi, we lost the first ambassador to violence overseas since the last incompetent president (Carter).

It's not our responsibility to defend our ambassadors overseas - it's the host country's responsibility. It's our foolishness to put our ambassadors in harm's way. Like pretending Libya wasn't a war zone for political (election) reasons.

There were lots of americans killed by IEDs during Bush's terms. None were here in the USA, like at a marathon.

It took years (and Obama) to get Bin Laden.

It took days to get the Boston bomber.

    Thanks Obama?
