Jones wants gustafsson next (pointless other than to beat Titos record) then Silva-Jones, then a Jones move to hw?

i dont think mw is stacked like LHW is. i think a second tier fighter like phil davis would manhandle sonnen and thats why he should stay at mw

Nelson, Healy, and Miller walk out with bonuses of $65,000. Healy actually got a double-bonus for FOTN and SOTN (sorry, Bryan Caraway) so he made bank on his upset win.

He's a top-5 middleweight but that division is thin to begin with. He's not meant to be fighting in the UFC's LHW division and this fight was a farce from the outset. Jones has cleaned out the division and Gusto isn't much of a challenge for him, either. He needs to go to HW.

Is there any doubt that Jones beats everyone right now, Silva and Velasquez included?

IDK. I'd like to see both fights, I think Jones would have trouble against some of the heavyweights, so I'd like to see him against them before I'd say he could beat someone like Cain.

Re: UFC 159: Jones vs. Sonnen (Apr/27)

DFW says Hunt or Cormier is next for Nelson.

Prefer Cormier to move down so Hunt vs. Nelson in the battle of the Buddha bellies.

At this point I don't think Nelson tries to take Hunt down. If Struve can bang with Hunt for 2.5 rounds, Nelson can too, right?

Anderson Silva reportedly wants to do the Jones fight now. DFW had to reassure everyone he'd be fighting Weidman first. If Weidman beats Anderson Silva, or Gusto beats Jon Jones, we're losing out on the biggest MMA superfight of all time.

Chael Sonnen, 110 seconds away from being the MW champion by decision, 27 seconds away from being the LW champion by toe break

Has it been confirmed that phone call from Anderson was Jones and not GSP?

I'd love to see either Silva-Jones or Silva-GSP.

Dunno why Silva would call DFW tonight to talk about GSP? Not out of the realm of possibility but GSP doesn't want it.

Would a glove like this stop eye-pokes without hindering grappling? Fights tonight were marred by pokes. Alan Belcher's career was almost ended by a poke and could be in jeopardy again after another nasty one on the same eye.

Bisping is accusing Belcher of "looking for a way out" of the fight by exaggerating the eye injury. With what, 30s left in the fight? His surgically repaired eye gushing blood?

Video of the toe injury. Watch it before the UFC rips it down.

Caraway was the one who got Dana to bump the bonuses up from $50k before the fights, then loses out on them lol

    Jones: I’m not the GOAT

Jon Jones (18-1) tied the record for UFC light heavyweight defenses tonight with a dominating TKO over Chael Sonnen (27-13). “Bones” took Sonnen down almost at will, beating him at his own game and eventually pounding him out in the final minute of the first round. The 25-year-old has built one of the most impressive winning streaks in the sport’s history since taking the belt from Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (21-7) in 2011. It’s hard to pick a fault in the champ’s game; he has a wrestling base, but his striking and submissions are evolving at a frightening rate. Sonnen told reporters at the UFC 159 post-fight press conference Jones was the best fighter he’d faced. But when asked whether he considered himself the greatest of all time, Jones said he hadn’t surpassed the achievements of his “idol,” Anderson Silva (33-4). Watch the full press conference here.

“That would be extremely disrespectful of me to try to disregard what Anderson has done, outside of the Octagon and inside of the Octagon. I celebrated my two-year anniversary of being a champion this year and Anderson has been doing it for about six. That’s phenomenal. That’s phenomenal pressure that he’s been able to uphold and continue moving forward with. I admire him so much. Yes, I’ve had some big fights and I’ve had a great career, but Anderson is still an amazing guy, he’s still my idol and I’m not going to disregard the things he’s done.”
